HANS IM GLÜCK - KARLSRUHE Postgalerie — Restaurant in Karlsruhe

Service was mediocre at best. Ive been a waiter since I was 16 and I don’t think it’s normal for waiters to be that impatient and unempathic at 12 o’clock with a place that is basically empty. We were overlooked a lot and the waiters, especially the male one didn’t care to smile or to show empathy for my older relatives that went with me. You’re gonna turn old as well, abs become a bit slow in the process. This should be known to you. Respect to elders is essential in my opinion. Second, I feel ripped off on the cocktails tht tasted like there was no booze in them at all. But yet you charge so much for them? About the meals, I can only speak for myself but the cheese on my burger was so hard and chewy that it was literally disgusting. I ate it only because I had no breakfast and was starving. Not only is this place expensive and the food mediocre at best (too much sugar in the lemonades, the sweet potato fries tasted like ‘fried nothing with starch’) but also the service does nothing to feel at home in this place.

Only thing I appreciate was (not the atmosphere obviously) but the aesthetics and the music. Music was pretty good. But if I want good music then I’d go to a club, dir a restaurant this is not acceptable...

Tldr: incredible customer service, good food.

First time trying out Hans im Glück, and we sat outside. Pretty nice with shades.

Food: I like the variety of burgers, with options for chicken, vegetarian and vegan. I also like the sauce options provided at the table. I got a menu combo, burger was good. The fries were thick and not dry, though the portion seemed too little.

Service: I ordered a drink, Soda mit Rosmarin. It came just without rosemary. I didn't want to pay 6.00 euros just for syrup water, I kindly asked for a rosemary. To my surprise, the waiter offered to get me a new drink for free! Best customer I've ever had in Germany!

I've had wrong orders at other places, (eg. onions in my burger, they just took my bitten burger, scrape it off and give it back with barely an apology.) Or being given a beef burger when I ordered the vegan one and took a bite. Just a cheerful apology without any offer to compensate for spoiling the mood. So the simple act in Hans im Glück is definitely...

Kontante Qualität

Nun hat Karlsruhe also zwei "Hans im Glück". Während der altbekannte am Rande des Karlsruher Marktplatzes liegt, wurde der neue in der Postgalerie am Europaplatz eröffnet. Nachdem ich vom ersten "Hans im Glück" eigentlich recht begeistert war, wollte ich auch mal den zweiten Ableger kennenlernen.

Service: Am Tag unseres Besuchs waren ausschließlich junge Männer im Einsatz. Durch die Bank freundliches Personal. Man war bezüglich unserer kleinen Tochter sogar so kinderfreundlich, dass man ihr gleich zweimal ein Malbuch inklusive Stifte angeboten hat. Kinder sind im "Hans im Glück" absolut willkommene Gäste. Generell war der Service sehr aufmerksam und auch in der Küche war man zackig unterwegs. Wir mussten nicht lange auf das Essen warten. Lediglich beim Bezahlen hat es dann etwas länger gedauert bis wir gehen konnten. - 4/5

Essen: Die Burger waren in gewohnter "Hans im Glück"-Qualität und haben mir gut geschmeckt. Ich hatte den Burger "Wilder Westen" welcher sich durch Heumilchkäse, Grillsoße und Zwiebelringe auszeichnet. Kombiniert wurde das ganze im Mittagsmenu mit einer Cola sowie einer Portion Fritten. Was ich bei "Hans im Glück" hier schon immer mochte, sind die verschiedenen Soßen welche auf dem Tisch zur Verfügung stehen. - 4/5

Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis: Die Burger sind schon gut. Da bin ich eigentlich immer zufrieden. Sie haben aber auch absolut ihren Preis. Der ist mir, vor allem in Kombination mit den Fritten teilweise einen Tick zu hoch. 9,90€ alleine für den Burger + Pommes extra für 4,20€ ist schon ein Wort. Und die Burger-Qualität von z.B. dem nahegelegenen "Deli Burger" wird dabei aus meiner Sicht nicht erreicht. - 3/5

Fazit: "Hans im Glück" ist definitiv eine Bank wenn es um gute Burger geht und man in schöner Atmosphäre essen möchte. Ich habe hier eigentlich immer gleichbleibende(n) Qualität und Service gefunden. Lediglich die Preisschraube ist mir persönlich einen Tick zu hoch gedreht, speziell was die Portion Pommes als Beilage...
