Yesterday I've had the utmost pleasure eating at Rote Bete in Karlsruhe Germany. I wanted to visit a restaurant where they serve Quality Vegan and vegetarian food. I was surprised to experience such a delight and quality food at Rote Bete. The owner of the restaurant was utmost respectful and full of kindness. The food tasted incredibly good and was well presented. Also they're using high hygiene standards when preparing the meals. I'm going to come here often. And I also recommend others to visit this small 'Gem' inside Karlsruhe. You won't find a better place to visit with these kind of high standards. Also don't pay attention to some of the negative comments on here. Some people don't understand many aspects of the dishes served. Some are biased and misunderstanding. The owner was always ready to help and answer any questions I've had, in regards to the food served. To end this writing, I want to say give this place a chance and you won't regret it!! Thank you Rote Bete!

When Falafel Bowl is just a suggestion.. I came here for lunch after a long time and ordered the Falafel Bowl—salad version. I was shocked to discover that a dish with “falafel” in the name came with exactly TWO falafel: One, two… and scene! Calling this a Falafel Bowl is like going to see the movie “Spiderman”, only for him to show up in one scene as a guy holding the door open. This was more a salad that accidentally brushed shoulders with falafel backstage. And because I picked the salad option (dietary choice), I wasn’t expecting bulgur hiding below the greens like it was smuggled in. It’s not the crime of the century, but if the salad option still comes with bulgur, maybe don’t offer the illusion of choice? It’s like asking “beer or soda” and then handing out Radlers. I loved this place when it first opened. Now it just feels like a ghost of its former self: less falafel, more filler, and a menu that seems to have commitment issues.

Vegetarians and vegans beware! We ordered the falafel sandwich with eggplant and cauliflower, only to have it made with pieces of meat. We have had falafel in Palestine, Israel, NYC and all over the US, other cities in Germany, Qatar, UAE, Morocco, and many more and have never had meat chunks thrown into our falafel sandwiches. To add insult to injury, the falafel is very plain, no added herbs or spices. The person making it was very kind, but it doesn’t make up for the unnecessary animal parts and sub par falafel.

I used to go there very often. But everytime I have such a bad experience when I pay. The owner never gives me correct change. I get always 1 or 2 euros less... and this happens also to my friends... Is it normal in Syria that the owner takes small changes in his pocket? like a self-tipp? It's such a shame for him..

please don't ruin someone's mood with 1 euro and live honest. God is watching you. You will get everything back someday. I will never go there again and I don't recommend...
