Badisch Brauhaus — Restaurant in Karlsruhe

UPDATE: In an astonishing attempt at image improvement, Badisch Brauhaus has chosen not to politely invite dissatisfied customers to come back for an improved experience, but to contact Google and threaten litigation for all bad reviews, because they are supposedly all fake. Please do yourself a favor and read through all the other 1 star reviews. Personally, I have received two requests from two different companies to take down this review, because "it hurts their rights" (I never knew terrible service was a right) and because they can't remember my being there. One can not help but ponder what would happen if they invested the money spent on hiring litigation companies for improving service quality.

Good beer, but absolutely horrible service. After 15 minutes of trying to get somebody's attention, I went to a waiter that was waiting at a table close to mine, only to be told that he wasn't waiting my table and that I should wait for somebody to come get my order. I went back to the table and waited for another 15 minutes, during which time various waiters passed by, none of them bothering to acknowledge the fact that I wanted to order something. I finally decided to go to the bar and ask for drinks, only to be told once more to return to my table and wait for somebody to get my order. After another 10 minutes of waiting, a waiter finally showed up to take my order. Once I finished my drink, I asked for the tab, which I was told will be delivered shortly. 25 minutes later the tab was delivered. I will not...

Somewhat of a hidden culinary gem in Karlsruhe offering a vast variety of tasty German dishes and a really cool ambiance that can range anywhere from traditional, to medieval and just cozy contemporary in the gardens.

This was my first time trying legit German food and I was not disappointed when some local friends decided this would be the best place for me to try different menu items and beers.

Really easy to get to by foot or public transport. Parking is a different topic but you can call the restaurant or hotel nearby depending on your number of guests/cars.

Reservations and take out are possible, but no delivery.

Can pay with cash or card.

Staff was super friendly and attentive, available in English and German.

I didn’t see any pets, but they claim to be pet friendly so might be possible to bring your friendly pet but better check ahead of time.

Prices were fair for the quality and the amount of food that we got.

Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price

The atmosphere at the restaurant was good, and the service was average – nothing exceptional, but acceptable. However, the food was extremely disappointing. We ordered four portions of the most expensive dish on the menu, which was advertised as the house specialty. Unfortunately, the meat quality was very poor – lacking flavor, taste, and even aroma.
