Sudden Death Brewing — Restaurant in Lübeck

As an American living in Lübeck, I can officially give this brewery two thumbs WAY up on offering that authentic US brewery feeling. Not only does the wide drink selections change regularly, this place offers what I consider - and I very much stand by this statement - the best pizza in Northern Germany. As if having good food and drink isn't enough, the staff here is absolutely the cherry on top of an already stellar experience. Everyone is so nice and accommodating. We rented out the private room for an engagement party and the team went above and beyond to make our every wish a reality. I don't even really like beer, this I LOVE Sudden Death! (They usually have amazing ciders and wines as well, so regardless of your preferences, there is something for everyone.) Near perfection.

Caught them at point when they we’re busy to the point of buckling at the knees. So service was hurt a bit. I decided to see beyond that and appreciate them for what they aim to be. Because, despite the bad timing one of the owner’s still took his time to chat between pouring Monin suryp drinks and attending to a bunch of wedding guests.

The kitchen team kept churning out pizzas like there’s no tomorrow.

Beer offering is divine obviously. Pizza delicious, while mine was a tad too burned for my taste. Portion size made it impossible to finish the charred bits anyway.

Best place for miles and miles and...

Auf unserem Weg in den Dänemark-Urlaub haben wir einen kleinen aber sehr reizvollen Umweg über Lübeck gemacht. Wenn ich schonmal in der Kante da oben bin, dann muss ich unbedingt bei den Jungs und Mädels von @suddendeathbrewing im @suddendeathbrewpub einen Besuch abstatten.

Trotz längerem Stau hatten wir es noch rechtzeitig zu unserem reservierten Tisch geschafft. Ein Gastrokonzept was simple aber fantastisch ist. Es gibt Bier und Pizza. Pizza und Bier. Sonst nahezu nichts. Ok, noch Dip zur Pizza. Dip für den Rand....mega Idee.... Und die Pizzen waren wirklich lecker. Meine Italian Butt Lift wie auch die Fig the Goat. Und zusammen mit dem Aioli-Dip.....Meega!!! Wieso seine Kraft verschwenden, wenn's ums Aussuchen des Gerichts geht? Nein, hier hat man die Qual? der Wahl! wenn's um die Biere geht. 19 Biere am Hahn, hierfür braucht man alle seine Kräfte. Vom Death Dicker über das Lübecker Zwickel, dem Monster Jam, Last Chance to Dance, bis zum Running Wild Brother und Slapshot, gab es einiges zu trinken. TeenHier ist eigentlich für jeden und jede was dabei. Wer hier nicht fündig wird hat was falsch gemacht.

Richtig gemacht hat aber auch Jana, die Head of Marketing, die an diesem Abend uns durch die Brauerei führte. Jana konnte mit sehr viel Fachwissen aber auch lustigen Anekdoten aufwarten. Alle Fragen, die von den Besuchern gestellt wurde konnte sie problemlos beantworten. Und als es an das anschließende Tasting ging, hatte sie auch hier das nötige Wissen parat bezgl. der angebotenen Biere.

Wie ließen den Abend viel später mit den anderen Teilnehmern der Führung ausklingen, hatten wir doch nur einige hundert Meter bis zum Hotel.

Lübeck ist bestimmt auch ganz toll. Vielleicht sehe ich beim meinem nächsten Besuch mal was von...
