UnterFreunden — Restaurant in Lübeck

Wow! Wow! Wow! WHAT A GEM!!!! This place has been created with so much love. It really is impressive how the dishes are crafted with so much creativity, and flavor. This has elevated and changed my view towards Classic vegetarian/vegan places into genius. Chef Jonathan and his staff are outstanding, as soon as you arrive you really feel that this place is far from ordinary, and created with such a cozy atmosphere to make you feel right at home.

Additionally, there are so many cool alcoholic free drinks made from so many clever ways, looooved it!

Will 100% go back, and with excited to try more of their fantastic food, I’m without a doubt spreading the...

In our opinion one of Lübecks best addresses when it comes to a culinary night out. A cozy atmosphere with a well blend of traditional and contemporary interior design set the stage for the fantastic food. Its creative, experimental but throughout delicious. Prepare for umami flavors, ferments and cleverly combined ingredients. (Only remark - the dessert could quite keep up with the rest of the dishes)

Did I already mentioned the wine list, ..no? Ohh ok .. here you go: it’s amazing! I especially loved their great selection of matassa vines!

Wir haben heute im „UnterFreunden“ in Lübeck gegessen. Die Gerichte waren kunstvoll und ansprechend angerichtet - kleine, aber fein arrangierte Portionen, die geschmacklich und optisch überzeugten. Die Bedienung war sehr bemüht und unterhaltsam. Zum Dessert gab es Schokolade mit Erdbeeren, die allerdings nicht frisch waren, sondern getrocknet. Dafür hätten sie aber knusprig sein müssen - was leider nicht der Fall war.

Ein Punkt, der uns überrascht und letztlich enttäuscht hat, war das Ende unseres Besuchs: Es wurde überschwänglich ein Schnaps angeboten („Und das Beste kommt jetzt für euch zum Schluss“), den wir in der Annahme angenommen hatten, er wäre – wie oft üblich – aufs Haus. Ein Schnaps (schmeckte wie ein Gläschen Alkopops) kostete dann schließlich 8 Euro. In einem so anspruchsvollen Restaurant hätten wir eine bessere Kommunikation über zusätzliche Kosten erwartet. So hatte man das Gefühl, etwas untergejubelt bekommen zu haben.

Insgesamt war das kulinarische Erlebnis sehr gut. Jedoch wurde der Abend durch das Missverständnis beim Bezahlen getrübt. Eine klarere Kommunikation seitens des Personals würde solche Situationen in Zukunft sicherlich vermeiden helfen.

Kommuniziert werden müsste übrigens auch die Kamera mit Mikro, die neben unserem Tisch zwischen Dekoglasgefäßen - nun ja - versteckt war. Ob sie an war oder vielleicht nur zur Überwachnung nach Restaurantschluss aktiviert wird, kann man natürlich nicht wissen. Normalerweise sollte es irgendwo einen...
