La Bodega Magdeburg — Restaurant in Magdeburg

At 14:45 I went in to have a beer, lunch time had passed, the restaurant was half empty, half the tables on the terrace were free, all the tables inside were free, I ordered a beer and said that I only wanted a beer and that was it. The waiter brought it very fast and very loudly and unfriendly, in a dissatisfied voice, made a remark to me that I needed to eat here and not just drink beer. The desire to drink this beer disappeared completely. A very inhospitable place, it's time to send the waiters into retirement or teach them how to communicate with customers. I spent 20 minutes in this place under the watchful and condemning gaze of the waiters, I hope they didn't spit in my beer when it was being brought to me. And he did not accepted cards for payment. Only cash!

This is certainly not a pub, but it is not a restaurant either! The design has long needed renovation, and judging by the dishes I saw on the neighboring tables, this is a canteen. The right decision is not...

We are in post COVID-19 summer times, restaurants are open AND super crowded, even during weekdays, said this you should have a reservation.

I strongly suggest to go for outside dinning, not too noisy, good/fresh air. Later we moved inside due to rain and regretted that move. Despite reservation we waited ~20min for our table to become ready. Despite this service was very good, checking frequently and discreet.

Food was superb, we went for shared Tapas and individual Steaks according to taste, we got all happy.

Drinks, were good. Gin hype hasn't hit this place (yet), so stick to the good old famous. Tapas calls for caña (small draft beer), we ordered San Miguel. Later we switched to house made Sangria, according to our taste a good compromise between temps (having something chilled) and a tasty red red wine as good match for the steaks.

I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, it looked very fancy from the outside, so I decided to give it a try for a quick lunch bite. I found that they have a special lunch menu which was a plus. As soon as i entered, I was fascinated by the interior and the bar. I can only imagine how beautiful it looks at night. We got the mixed grill plate and the grilled ground meat skewers with a cheese filling, both plates came with some fried and a small salad. They had a decent portion, and the taste was good, nothing extraordinary though. The prices were okay, just because it was a lunch meal.
