Phönix Cocktailbar — Restaurant in Magdeburg

I took my partner here during a short stay in Magdeburg after reading the good reviews. Unfortunately we thought the drinks tasted sub standard....the cocktails were full of ice and we couldn't taste much alcohol in them. We felt peckish and ordered a ham baguette each. They were made of cheap supermarket pre-baked baguettes with a slice of ham, a slice of cheese, 2 thin slices of tomatoes and smothered with mayonnaise. After my partner started getting stomach pains due to the amount of ice in the drinks, we decided to order a longdrink each to settle the stomach. My longdrink had barely any alcohol and my partner's drink (Cuba libre) tasted like cheap supermarket booze. We left without finishing our drinks and went elsewhere. I'm sorry....I can't give this place more...

Wir haben letztens einen schönen Abend mit Freunden in der Phönix Cocktailbar verbracht. Es ist eine schöne Cocktailbar mit aufmerksamer Bedienung und leckeren Cocktails zu fairen Preisen. 2 kleine Sachen hätten wir dennoch anzumerken. Die Bar hat ein interessantes Untergeschoss und wenigstens in diesen Katakomben würden wir uns gemütlichere Loungemöbel, Sessel oder Eckcouches wünschen. Es wirkt irgendwie ein wenig zu ungemütlich, zu kalt mit diesen Stühlen überall. Und wenn man zum Beispiel einen Gin Tonic bestellt und den Tonic selbst zum bereits mit Gin gefüllten Glas hinzugießen soll, dann sollte das Glas auch bitte so groß sein, dass der Tonic mit einem mal hineingegossen werden kann. Wenn das Glas zu klein ist, trinke ich erst einen hochkonzentrierten Gin Tonic und nach 3 Schluck einen zu dünnen ;-) Aber das sollen wirklich nur 2 kleine Anregungen sein. Wir können die Bar auf jeden Fall...

Absolutely recommend, the menu is exhaustive. They could easily have a 100 different drinks. The cocktails are amazing. Also has a lot of good non alcoholic cocktails. As for the prices, it depends of course, you can go have a 3 Euro beer or a fancy 8 Euro cocktail but they have a wide range...
