Went during winter with 2°c outside, the door was open constantly so our table was nearly as cold as outside. The waiter refused to move us to a warmer table, despite other tables being free. Eventually we moved by ourselves, but then we're not told that we couldn't, so clearly a mismatch between what we were told and and what was actually available.
When we called in advance we were told there were gluten free options as one of our party has coeliac disease, upon arrival we were told there was only 1 dish on the entire menu that was gluten free, it would have been nicer to know this in advanced so we could have explored alternative options.
It took us about 15 minutes to actually order, and service was not only slow but unfriendly an inattentive.
The waiter when taking our order was not paying attention to our order and was paying more attention to sit further persons arriving or to other tables, leading to a huge scepticism that our order was correct or we as customers actually matter.
When the order arrived it was inevitably incorrect and the other food was cold, chips were soft and cold, side salad was overdosed with vinegar. The only redeeming part of the Dunya Kebab I ordered was the hummus.
By far the worst evening I have had in a very long time, marred purely from...
Read moreI would probably rate them 4.5 for my overall experience. This was our third visit at this place now and we somehow liked it Everytime we have been here.We ordered there biryani (which we call pulav as it's not the traditional Indian/Pakistani biryani ) but trust me the rice was really tasty it came along with grilled chicken and some fosuliya. The best part was the huge bread which came along the falafel salad. It was so fresh and big that u end up getting the tummy full. Lastly we ordered there Arabic style ice cream which was new to us and we liked it some how similar to there "halwa aljibibi" a bit expensive (6.90) but was a good experience. There are a few points to be considered before visiting the place: Expect a delay in getting placed especially if you are visiting without reservation or on weekends. You are going to get the deserts with delay. Portions size are big as far as the salats are concerned. Completely Arabic ambience with loud music. Now the good part is the food is really nice slightly on the expensive side as compared to the similar restaurants in the nearby places but they are definitely...
Read moreATMOSPHERE & SERVICE went yesterday for ramadan iftar and it was great. We were sat upstairs and the restaurant was full. Comfortable seats and air conditioned. Of course reservation is required. The service was top notch. Waiters are everywhere checking if you are satisfied. The main tall syrian waiter who was responsible for our table was very very polite and had an uplifting sense of humour too. To be fair all the waiters that helped us were polite too. The were all smartly dressed too.
FOOD The food is another story. Every dish was very tasty and some even tasted closely to some of our home made dishes.
This is what we ordered Sambousak cheese and meat, houmos, stuffed lamb, lamb bi zeit, meat stuffed zucchini with cooked yogurt, mandi w chicken, kebab hindi, tabbouleh, fattoush, yougurt salad with mint and cucumbrer. Vegetable and lintel soup.
Food portions were very generous and filling to the point that we couldn't not finish our dishes and asked to have them packed for take away. We also could not eat the desert baklawa that looked delicious. We will surely keep...
