Oltu Cag Kebabi — Restaurant in Mannheim

We visited Oltu Cağ Kebab today because the other restaurant we originally planned to go to had a long line. Since I know and love Cağ Kebab from Istanbul, I was excited to try it here — but unfortunately, I left disappointed.

The service was unfriendly from the start — no smile, no sense of welcome. One waiter was chatting with a delivery person outside, and even though I raised my hand to get his attention, he only came after five minutes and asked, without any warmth, “What would you like to drink?”

We ordered our food and sat down. The soup was okay. When the waiter asked me if I wanted garlic (sarımsak) with my kelle paça, I said yes — but it arrived without any. When I asked him about it, he pointed to the garlic on the table. Sure, I saw it — but why ask in the first place if it’s not prepared with garlic in the kitchen?

The Cağ Kebab, priced at €19 for just two skewers, felt overpriced. The meat was slightly dry and lacked the juicy tenderness I associate with a proper Cağ Kebab.

DE: Sehr sehr schlechter Service und das Essen war auch nicht appetitlich. Wir waren fürs Fastenbrechen da und haben bereits ca. 40 min. vor Iftar (19.40 Uhr) bestellt. Die Mezzeteller hatten wir sofort erhalten, das war das einzige was schnell ging. um 20.28 Uhr war das Fastenbrechen, unsere Suppen wurden erst um 21.10 serviert. Darauf mussten wir noch ca. 40 min auf die Hauptgerichte warten, welche kalt serviert wurden. Alle anderen Gäste, welche nach uns bestellt hatten hatten bereits gegessen die Rechnungen bezahlt und wir mussten noch auf die Hauptgerichte warten. Die Begründung war immer "es geht länger weil ihr Cagspiesse habt", was bei anderen der selbe Fall war. Fazit: Unser Essen wurde ca. 2 Stunden nach der Bestellung serviert. Alles wurde kalt serviert und die Pommes waren so weich, als würden sie vom Gestern serviert. Die Cagspiesse bestanden mehrheitlich aus Fett und ich hatte das Gefühl als würde ich ein Gummi kauen. Der einzelne Stern gibt es dafür, weil die Suppen, das Brot und Haydari gut waren. Über Hygiene muss man gar nichts sagen, das ist ein Fremdwort in dieser Bude

TR: Iftar yogunlugundan dolayi Iftardan 40 dk. önce oturup siparisimizi verdik. Meze Tabaklari hemen geldi, ve servis acisindan en hizli gelisen tek noktaydi. Corbalarimiz Iftardan 40 dk. sonra 21.10 gibin geldi ve ardindan 40 dk. Anayemekler icin bekledik. Her seferinde sordugumuzda "bir dahaki servis sizin" aciklamasi geldi fakat tabaklar hep diger Masalara gitti. Bizden sonra gelenler Hesabini ödeyip kalkarken, biz ise halen yemekleri bekliyorduk. Bahaneleri ise " Siz Cagkebabi söylediniz, onun bekleme süresi fazla" halbuki diger siparislerdede Cagkebabi vardi. Sonuc: Yemeklerimiz siparis verdikten yaklasik 2 Saat sonra servis edildi. Anayemekler soguk servis edildi, lezzet adina iste sinifta kaldi. Patatesler dünden kalma gibin lapaydi ve Caglarin yarisi sadece yagdi ve lastik gibiydiler. Tek yildizi ise Corba, Pide ve Haydarinin lezzetine veriyoruz. Hijyen konusundan bahsetmemek lazim, cünkü bu Restoranin sözlügünde öyle bir kelime...

Am schönen Sonnigen Tag am Abend im Juli an kleinen Tischen zwischen gemütliche Häusern mit toller Atmosphäre in der QuadrateStadt Mannheim. Wir hatten Zwei Drehspießtellern (Dönerteller) mit frischem saftigen Salate dazu Pommes, Reis und Fladenbrot, die definitiv zu den besten in Mannheim gehören, die wir je gegessen haben. Die Drehspießtellern und die Kombination aus frischen Zutaten und perfekt zubereitete Tellern machen jeden Bissen zu einem wahren Genuss. Optisch und geschmacklich top und das zu einem guten angemessenen Preis. Die Bedienung war fantastisch, sehr nett, aufmerksam und einladend. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!!! "Bon Appetito"

Temmuz ayında güneşli güzel bir günde, Mannheim meydan kentinde harika bir atmosfere sahip şirin evler arasındaki küçük masalarda. Mannheim'da kesinlikle yediğimiz en iyiler arasında olan taze sulu salatalar, patates kızartması, pilav ve gözleme ile iki döner şiş (döner) yedik. Et lokantası tabakları ve taze malzemelerle mükemmel hazırlanmış tabakların kombinasyonu, her lokmayı gerçek bir zevk haline getiriyor. Görünümü ve tadı harika ve makul bir fiyata. Bekleme personel harika, çok nazik, özenli ve misafirperver. Tamamen rahat hissettik ve kesinlikle geri geleceğiz!!! "afiyet olsun"

On a beautiful sunny day in July at small tables between cozy houses with a great atmosphere in the square city of Mannheim. We had two rotary skewers (doner kebab) with fresh juicy salads, fries, rice and flatbread, which are definitely among the best we have eaten in Mannheim. The rotisserie plates and the combination of fresh ingredients and perfectly prepared plates make every bite a real pleasure. Looks and tastes great and at a good reasonable price. The wait staff was fantastic, very kind, attentive and welcoming. We felt completely comfortable and will definitely be back!!! ...
