BLITZ Bar & Bistro — Restaurant in Munich

Very nice place with beautiful wall art and tasty vegetarian and vegan food. The portions are generous and the food is fresh and tasty. My partner and I shared guacamole and veggie chips (delicious), a plate of quesadillas (really nice), and a vegan ice cream dessert with a spicy twist (amazing). After that we were really full, even if we didn't have a main course each. The price was very reasonable for all we had in my opinion. The mezcal we had after the meal was quite pricey but if we wouldn't have had it, the bill with all that food and 2 beers and 2 espresso coffees would have been a bit less than 50 euros. The only thing I can fault food wise is that the pico de gallo they served was really really dry and should be more "saucy". Also the fact that they have Padrón peppers, manchego cheese, and patatas bravas on the menu was a bit weird to me since those are Spanish and not Mexican. The star I am taking off is because of the atmosphere. The music was all over the place from Caribbean sounds to 80s pop. It didn't fit the restaurant at all and really clashed with the decor and the food. There is so much Mexican music to choose from, why play a Cuban song followed by Wham! ? The other thing that didn't match up was the staff's uniforms and service style. Don't get me wrong, the service was extraordinary but too classic and formal for such a venue as well as the very old fashioned French restaurant style uniforms. This was a restaurant that I had wanted to go for a while now. We went on a Friday evening after reserving. When we got there, we stood and waited for almost 10 minutes until some waiter came to see if we needed help. This was ok, considering the place was very busy at that time. I need to say that the environment is very chilled and relaxed. After ordering our drinks and food, we waited 20min for the drinks (they were being delivered at the wrong table, we had to call the waitress and say those were for us). After 1h30 without any food, we saw that people that arrived way later than us were already eating. Then the waitress came and started putting food on our table that we did not order. It turned out she was confused and this was the order of the couple at the table next to ours who arrived maybe 30 minutes later - not nice, since by that time we were pretty hungry and all of these mistakes were happening. The food was good, but I cannot give a good review because the service was terrible. They were understaffed, so obviously this is not the staff`s fault, but the misplacing the orders is very annoying and that is not only because of understaffing but lack of organization also. Altought the food was good, the high price payed for the meal is not worth the terrible service, hence unfortunatelly I will not be going...

Wir haben einen Tisch für zwei Personen an einem Donnerstagabend reserviert. Das Restaurant ist gut gelegen auf der Museumsinsel in der Nähe des Wassers. Ich fand das Design und das Ambiente im Inneren sehr cool und geschmackvoll. Leider ist der Service der Schwachpunkt.

Wir wurden zu unserem Tisch geführt, der erstaunlich klein war, wenn man bedenkt, dass die Speisen und Getränke in einem solchen Restaurant viel Platz brauchen.

Wir wurden nach unseren Getränkebestellungen gefragt, brauchten aber mehr Zeit, um uns die Speisekarte anzuschauen, bevor wir bereit waren, Getränke zu bestellen. Deshalb dauerte es eine Weile, bis die Kellnerin kam und unsere Getränkebestellung aufnahm. Die Speisekarte folgt nicht dem traditionellen Schema "Vorspeise - Hauptgericht", sondern zeigt nur verschiedene Gerichte und Preise und man muss raten oder das Personal aktiv nachfragen, um zwischen Vorspeisen, Hauptgerichten und großen Gerichten zum Teilen zu unterscheiden. Die Kellnerin nahm schließlich unsere Getränkebestellungen auf, weigerte sich aber, Essensbestellungen entgegenzunehmen und sagte, sie würde dafür wiederkommen. Es dauerte wieder eine längere Zeit, bis wir das Essen bestellen durften.

Als wir das Essen bekamen, stellte das Personal zuerst fest, dass der Tisch zu klein war und begann, das Essen auf einen Stuhl zu stellen. Später setzten sie uns an einen größeren Tisch. Eines der Gerichte war ein Fajitas-Gericht, das mit vielen Aufstrichen und Soßen in kleinen Schälchen serviert wird. Ich bat um ein paar Teelöffel zum Servieren, und mir wurde gesagt, dass es normalerweise funktioniert, wenn jeder sein eigenes Messer dafür benutzt. Da ich eine Kreuzkontamination zwischen mir und meiner Kollegin vermeiden wollte, sagte ich trotzdem, dass es nett wäre, wenn sie uns 2 Teelöffel bringen würde. Sie kam mit den Teelöffeln zurück und sparte nicht mit ihren Ratschlägen, wie wir mehr Umweltbewusstsein entwickeln sollten.

Sie weigerten sich, uns Leitungswasser zu servieren, obwohl wir beide alkoholische Getränke bestellt hatten und für insgesamt 86 EUR (2 Personen) bestellt hatten.

Das Essen selbst war gut und kam schnell (wir haben weniger auf das Essen gewartet als auf die Bestellung). Für mich persönlich ist die Einstellung der älteren Dame, die uns bediente, die vielleicht eher zu einem typischen deutschen Wirtshaus oder Biergarten passt.
