El Patio — Restaurant in Munich

I went to “El Patio” for the first time with my Korean colleagues.

For them was the first time trying typical Mexican cuisine.!

As soon as we enter, we all loved the atmosphere , the decorations, the music..

Every dish we ordered had a very authentic Mexican taste. It was such a positive experience to got to try Mexican flavors far from home.

And as for my Korean colleagues , they were so amazed and found the flavors so incredible delicious! They tried the mole, cochinita pool, the Lakota tacos, guacamole and the cactus tacos. They also got to learn how to eat tacos properly! They said they will recommend this place and they wished they could come to eat here everyday .

We also had a small mezcal testing. And as it was their first time trying this liquor, they were so interested about the mezcal ,how is made, the agave varieties and how to think it.

Overall such a man amazing experience 360!

Nach der Folge von Frank Rosin haben wir bemerkt, dass das El Patio nur wenige hundert Meter von Bekannten entfernt liegt. Seit September 2021 wollten wir dahin und haben es nun endlich gemacht und einen Weg von +200km dafür aufgenommen, weil wir u.a. den Michelada auch mal live testen wollten.

Das Restaurant selbst liegt in einer belebten Straße in Schwabing und man sollte eher nicht mit dem Auto kommen, weil Parkplätze sehr schwer zu bekommen sind, wir es aber natürlich wieder geschafft haben, vor dem Eingang direkt zu parken.

Als erstes zum besagten Cocktail - mit Bier, Tomaten- und Zitronensaft, Tabasco, Salz, Pfeffer & Co. Ja er schmeckt wirklich super und vor allem ist es eine Kombination wie Chips + Bier, einfach eine Geschmacksexplosion und wirklich gut. Auch die anderen Cocktails sind sehr zu empfehlen.

Die Tapas und Dips sind hübsch angerichtet, geschmacklich wirklich sehr gut, aber fallen teilweise etwas klein aus. Besonders Kartoffeln könnten es ein paar mehr sein. Auch beim Baguettebrot war ein Korb sehr frisch und gut und der zweite Korb etwas trocken. Wir haben uns durch zahlreiche Gerichte probiert und können sagen, dass wir vom Ceviche El Patio irgendwie mehr erwartet hatten, wie z.B. vielleicht eine warme Garnele oder Muschel on Top. Klar steht das nicht drauf, aber beim teuersten Gericht fehlte uns leider noch der Wow-Effekt. Geschmacklich ist es aber gut und eher eine Art kleine Vorspeise. Wir haben natürlich auch den Fehler gemacht, mit großem Hunger zu kommen und da sind Tapas natürlich nicht ideal, aber wir wollten eben unbedingt ins El Patio und bereuen es nicht.

Das Fazit. Die Leute und vor allem der Inhaber sind sehr freundlich, herzlich und immer aktiv bei den Gästen. Mit "großen" Hunger sollte man nicht kommen, sondern eher die leckeren Cocktaile genießen und nebenher etwas "Tapas" naschen. Preis-Leistungstechnisch ist alles in Ordnung aufgrund der guten Lage, auch wenn die Portionen / Tapas etwas größer ausfallen dürften. Vielleicht etwas unwichtig, aber die Inneneinrichtung ist wirklich gelungen und auch die Toiletten sehr sauber und wirklich schön eingerichtet. Das mussten wir dem Chef auch einfach nochmal sagen.

Alles in allem für jeden zu empfehlen, um sich selbst ein Bild zu machen. Für die Cocktails allein und 2-3 Tapas kommen wir auf jeden...

Its a cozy place with an equally cozy atmosphere. The menu isn't long, which I personally very much enjoy, and it still has enough options for everyone. There are enough dishes for vegetarians aswell. The dishes have the perfect size and taste. A big hit is the lime tiramisu, which is part of their daily rotating desserts! If they have it i certainly recommend it! It is certainly not my first time and not my last time aswell. Sitting indoors or outdoors is both very enjoyable, with a nice atmosphere to have nice conversations. All servers are also extremely nice and friendly without being pushy. If time allows they also are open for some small talks...
