2024 update: Still great food, great vibe and wonderful people. Nothing has changed in one year, and that is the way it should be. See you next summer.
11 month later update: Last night, we returned about a year later (June 2023), and the food and service are still excellent. It is nice to know that they are consistent and have maintained an excellent dining experience. The staff even remembered us from the following summer. They are very kind. This might become a yearly tradition for our family.
Summer 2022: Our family loves this restaurant. We have been living in Europe for the last two months. Spending some time in München visiting friends and sites. We have traveled to München many times as a couple and as a family over the years. This restaurant was around the counter from where we were staying. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We were meet with smilies. My wife speaks German, but the staff speaks English comfortably. The food and service are stellar. Our 7 year old son loved it so much that on the third night in town, we asked him where he wanted to eat… he said “Monsoon please. “. Good prices, fantastic service, and an incredible taste. Highly...
Read moreThey just named themselves "Taste of India", but the taste is not really there. I was there a few weeks ago and ordered Gobi Manchurian. It was just too sweet as if they just put gobi (cauliflower) in some tomato sauce/ketchup and added some food colour to it so as to make it look even more red. Also some flour around the Gobi was uncooked. I also ordered a Chai (the Indian Tea). It was anything but chai. It just tasted like hot sweet water. When I asked, the waiter said to me and I quote: "sir, we don't make the chai just for you. If we make it to your liking, others won't like it". It's not my liking that I am talking about, it doesn't even remotely taste like chai. I don't know about other dishes but this was not a good experience. I gave 1 star for the service because, the waiter gave 2 extra cardamoms (uncrushed), and asked me to add them to Chai myself. As an Indian, I want to say at least these 2 dishes I had, have no "Taste of...
Read moreVery friendly staff! Yeah I don’t give anything else than five stars. Just to support local businesses and shops. But to be completely honest… I’ve had loads of better northern Indian food in Munich. The dhal shorba was very mediocre - it tasted like regular vegetable broth, and I had to make it interesting myself. This is a real bummer, because a good dhal soup can make my day (I’m not even a soup person). The butter chicken was also nothing that blew my mind. I was very hungry and at the end I was full. But If I came with the craving for good Indian cuisine I would have been a bit disappointed. To end this on a good note: the naan was superb. Very fluffy and stayed like that for the whole evening - perfect to wipe that mediocre butter chicken sauce off the plate. No but for real. Naan was good and very friendly staff. I don’t mean to be harsh. I’ve just had better...
