We visited here Saturday 22nd May 2021, we did a 20km walk in München and took in 4 bars/restaurants en route, this was the 3rd of those and was on the homeward section. This is easy to find it is a large corner bar and is situated where Görresstrasse and Schleißheimer Str meet. It is one of those typically large and impressive and also slightly imposing-looking Augustiner places. getting here, represents a 20 I guess Josephsplatz on the U2 is the closest underground station, or it is a relatively straightforward 45-50 min 4km walk from Marienplatz, of course, you could combine it with a visit to the large Löwenbräukeller - Das Original which is 1km southwest of here.
We sat outside on the pavement area and had a beer and a Munich Schnitzel, I never knew there was a local variation of this, however, there is and it clearly impressed an old guy who when walking past, stopped, lowered his mask, and asked us if that is a Munich Schnitzel, I think that he was impressed and so were we. We had a couple of beers here, I think that I had started with the Helles and had an Edelstoff afterwards.
Service was pretty swift and staff were friendly and engaging, it was interesting that as others saw us eating outside on the street, people soon followed. It is a popular place, the food, beer and location are great, I would really like to revisit this place. I see that they have a Biergarten to the side and rear which has 80 seats. I didn't spend much time inside owing to the still slightly restrictive COVID regulations, however, what I did see was a really nice, smart and...
Read moreA wonderful authentic german or, rather, Munich experience with plenty to pick on but wonderful if you choose to enjoy yourself rather than find faults.
We focused on the pork dishes so I have no clue about the beef options and they may be even more flavourful.
The charcuterie platter was quite alright, not much to write home about but quite decent and authentic. Works well as an appetizer.
The pork knuckle was the weakest of the main dishes, a bit dry, not much crackling. Honest and quite flavorful, just not that exciting.
The roast pork was amazing flavor wise with perfectly deep dark gravy and tender fall apart juicy meat with not a lot of fat. I would have loved to see a bit of crunchy crackling added but I was perfectly happy as is.
The mountain schnitzel was also quite amazing. It basically has fried onions incorporated into the batter and it makes a huge difference and adds a ton of flavor. Would order it again in a heartbeat.
The Augustiner beer was wonderful as usual and is certainly one of my favorites. We were also treated to a shot of beautiful not too sweet williams from a producer I'm not aware of but then I'm not really a williams specialist in any shape or form.
The service was highly professional and courteous, never too friendly which I love. Yet the waiter was the one who treated us to the williams shots and never skipped a beat when we dropped one of the beer glasses on the floor. Excellent and deserving praise in all respects.
Highly...

This is a great place for those wanting to try some southern German food. The menu is small but offers the most traditional dishes, Including the famous Bavarian white sausage with sweet mustard. (Served until 3:00. P.m. ).
This place is great! If you're looking for a pub or a tavern style meal where you can sit at the bar, or stand up near by the bar. Have a great class of beer and eat a snack.
They do offer a sit down service where you have to call in and book ahead of time - it's a simple tavern style ambience with the occasional smoke smell when folks enter. If this is okay with you, I would highly encourage you to come here, sit down and have a meal .
The staff it's hands down, super friendly, and they're willing to go to extra mile to help you have an excellent meal. They even have a menu in english for us. Silly foreigners who can speak German.
This is a short walk from the subway, you can be there in less than 5 minutes, so I highly recommend you stop by and enjoy a huge...
