This place is so close to home and i wanted to enjoy a small break on my own that i decided to try LAX Eatery out. Well in my opinion it is a complete scam for several reasons. In order to try to give a hipster feeling to the whole thing, you get into a location with supposed californian flair. You can also find this attempt on the menu with 3 appetizers, 3 bowls with a bit of latino influence and so on. But i think hipster flair can't be faked. Either you are hipster or you are not. Well i ordered altogether an avocado "toast", the smoothie of the day and a 75 cL bottle of still water and it has cost me ca. 20 euros altogether. Not only was the toast served with guacamole, which depending on the recipe used could be spicy and bad luck for me i was trying to avoid spicy. But the worst of it all was the mean attempt to steal from me a 2 euros additional tip which i didn't intend to give. I gave a 50 euros bill and i was supposed to get 30 back. In between the personnel asked me whether i had 2 euros in coins, which in that case i had. After i was given back my 30 euros, i commented that i didn't know what were the 2 euros for. And the guy pretended barely to look confused: he had mistakenly understood that i wanted to pay 22 euros. So i said that that was not my intention. I took my 2 euros back with the feeling definitely rooted that LAX Eatery a total scam is. It might provide the younger ones the feeling of being cool enjoying an attempted meal (portions are not crazily big either) with their friends on the terrace but i insist on it, this place is a scam and Munich is full of way much...

The employees are all incredibly nice and helpful and look like they were coming straight out of your instagram feed. The service is good and quick. The restaurant itself gets very crowded during popular times and one should be aware of it getting loud, or there not being enough space, before planning the trip.
There are vegan options on the menu, but not many which, i think, is mostly due to the menu being very small, which could be a good thing. It features bowls, granolas, typical breakfast food and presumably mexican inspired meals.
Whilst everything is tasting fresh and looking good, the food itself is not in any way special and I am removing a star for this. Looking at how thought out and well developed the rest of the restaurant is, I would have expected the food to be of similar quality.
I ate a Taco Quinoa Salad Bowl (8,90€) which was a standard bowl of salad with a few tacos around and a scoop of smashed avocado on top. It was a bit underwhelming.
Oh and one last thing: They only take cash.
I would still recommend this place for the unusual drinks and the...
Read moreRead moreHmm, difficult one, I would give five stars for the great food (huevos rancheros - Yes!!! And I am half Mexican :-)) and for their staff who was very friendly and helpful although the place was crowded. That's the minus: the place is tiny and they squeeze too many tables into the place so it gets really noisy and above all, the place lacks a bit of atmosphere / cozyness. So I might come back for their really good food and charming staff, but there is room to improve. Oh, and please... Please! Only cash? I know we're in Germany, but even Germany should have arrived in the 21th century by now when it comes to paying...
