Horrible horrible service to indians who are visiting Munich. We are paying customers but we were treated like beggars. We had gone to this restaurant for dinner as part of a tour package of make my trip on 24th may . When we reached this restaurant we were told in a very rude manner to sit at the back of the restaurant instead of at the front as if we were beggars. My father sat at an empty unreserved table and the manager told him very rudely to get up from there and go to the back. It was horrifying. It was an indian restaurant but they were just courteous to foreigners over there and we were treated like the scum of the earth. I really advise all the indians in munich to never visit maharani restaurant in munich. Never. Being paying customers we were treated horribly. Since we didn’t wanna create a scene we just ate quietly and left. There was another person who asked whether there was butter naan instead of plain naan in the buffet and the waiter told him with a smirk that butter is already applied on the naan and he has to search for it. This person kept searching and he didn’t get any butter naan. When i went and searched for it i saw they were all plain naans and the waiter was just making fun of us. Why are paying customers being treated like this?? What gives them the right to treat tourists like this in such a demeaning way? Shame on you maharani restaurant of munich!! Shame on you!! We are treated courteously in India and you guys are behaving as if...
Read moreAfter seeing all the positive reviews (in my very busy schedule) I chose this restaurant. Firstly I would say the restaurant is so clumpsy but that’s okay IF the food is good. My experience is BAD here.
Secondly I would like to review this restaurant in two categories. First is the service & atmosphere and the other is food.
Firstly, staff is not so attentive to Indian clients and very attentive and quick for others. And, the other thing I didn’t like about the atmosphere here is, as I said the restaurant is clumpsy, person could hardly walk in between the tables. In that space, a person is taking away the used hand towels or bathroom waste probably, that’s the most worst thing I experienced.
And, I have ordered: Prawns poori: not so good. Poori was good but I felt prawns were not cooked well.
Paneer tandoori: all vegetables except paneer were nicely grilled :D But compared to other dishes I ordered, this was the best AMONG them
I have asked everything spicy, none of them were Malai kofta: of course the server told me that this will not spicy, but I didn’t expect that it would be like milk gravy with added kofta and spices.
Mango lassi: it might be good for people who like to put elachi powder in lassi.
I definitely DONOT recommend...
Read moreI have to say this is the first time in like ever that I felt disrespected as an Indian or even a human here. I visited this a few months ago while roaming in Munich. I asked can we have two tables and the old Indian manager responded "how do you guys come without an appointment in Hindi" . I have been to over over 50 restaurants across Germany and Europe too. Never has anyone asked me this question. He gave us two seats and a table so close to the wall so that we banged our heads when we got up from the seat. There were entirely empty tables outside and I was really mad. He could have said we have no place free or even asked us to wait in queue or something. I simply don't understand the extremely rude attitude of him. Sir with all due respect with age comes experience but also wisdom. I feel so sad that you have lost the chapter 1 of hospitality taught in India. Yes l have been living long in Germany to understand the value of appointments but never ever has anyone ever asked me in any restaurant "HOW DO YOU COME WITHOUT...
