I went to King Masala for the first time today and it definitely won't be my last. I can honestly recommend it and, of course, I can give you my reasons why. First off, the friendly owner and staff are the first thing to mention for their kindness. For our first course, we ordered the mixed starter. Of course, everything was delicious, but the samosa pieces were incredibly tasty. My first recommendation: You absolutely must order the samosas. The Chicken Tikka Masala, Jalfrezi, and for those who like lamb, the Lamb Masala, are all highly recommended. The dishes also came with a generous portion of rice, which I really liked. To finish, we had mango cream and mango lassi. Both are homemade. But here, you absolutely have to order the mango lassi. We sat outside, but the restaurant's interior is also very pleasant. I especially didn't know they had a separate room, which is great for small parties or birthdays. I will continue to be a regular customer. I can highly recommend it in terms of taste, friendliness, and prices.

Wow! Amazing food quality. From walking in, the service was excellent. Very clean restaurant with prompt service.much larger space in the back, but it is still only just over a dozen tables. I did not have a reservation, but I got seated promptly. With that said, if you can, I would certainly recommend reservations, but don't let that stop you from coming here. Upon sitting, an appetizer is brought out by the house. I ordered the Butter Chicken, some Garlic Naan, and a Mango Lassi. The butter chicken was perfect. Flavors were fully there and cooked excellently. It comes with rice, which too was cooked perfectly al dente. Garlic Naan was very flavorful, and I am fine with it as is, but if I could change it just a little, I would suggest less oil. Mango Lassi was not watered down and as good as if I were in India. At the end, a sweet mango dessert, just the right amount to adjust your palette, came at the end, again, in the house. Absolutely coming back here!

October 2021: ⭐️ (3 stars dropped). This was my first indoors dinner since February 2020 now that the 3G rule applies in Munich for all activities in closed spaces and I was REALLY looking forward to it. Unfortunately King Masala provided us with zero sense of safety re Covid-19 as they didn’t ask for any G proof. The food? Not as exciting as it was when I first went last summer but this can partially be blamed to me feeling unsafe. Now that I think about it, I should had left. I got carried away by my anticipation to enjoy what I remembered as super tasty food. Not visiting any time soon. July 2021: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Quite a few extra options than the ones available in the typical Munich Indian restaurants’ scene. Tender meat and spicy, creamy and well prepared sauces. The rice was a bit flat and the naans could be fluffier. Overall a great option.

We got friendly service, and the restaurant for sure has a nice atmosphere. But the food was really not as good as expected in a restaurant, especially one that's so highly rated on Google maps. The main dishes were okay, but everything else (soup, breads) was tasteless and not worth a restaurant price. The batura was not on the menu at the bread section, we had to ask to find out. It was oily, heavy, and missing salt. The lentil soup tasted like a knorr instant soup with 5 lentils in it. The naan and papadam were unsalted, which is not too bad if you are dipping it into a sauce, but on its own it was just bland. The aubergine curry tasted like a dahl, I would have expected the lentil soup to be like that, but it was okay. The paneer curry was okay again. The rice was well made. The mango puree they gave us as dessert was actually very tasty, and also the green dip (that they said was very spicy, but I would say medium spicy). I would not go again, sadly, as too many of the dishes we ordered were not so good, and the good ones...
