Malva — Restaurant in Munich

I went there for a birthday dinner but was disappointed. Although the service was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy, the kitchen seemed overwhelmed, and we had to wait a very long time (3h for appetizer, soup, main dish and desert) for our food. To make things worse, there was a hair in my main course. They replaced the dish, but we didn’t receive a proper apology or any kind of gesture from the kitchen. For the high prices they charge, I found this unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my friends—there are plenty of better fine dining...

Wir kehren immer wieder gern ins Malva zurück – und jedes Mal werden wir aufs Neue begeistert. Das Menü wechselt alle sechs Wochen, was für frische Impulse sorgt und saisonale Produkte perfekt in Szene setzt. Besonders beeindruckend sind die sorgfältig ausgewählten, regionalen Zutaten, die in jedem Gang ihre Qualität zeigen.

Der Service ist exzellent: herzlich, aufmerksam und professionell, dabei nie zu formell – genau die richtige Balance, um sich rundum wohlzufühlen.

Kulinarisch überzeugt das Malva sowohl mit hervorragend zubereiteten Fleischgerichten als auch mit kreativen vegetarischen Optionen, die in Geschmack und Präsentation absolut gleichwertig sind.

Ein weiteres Highlight ist die ausgezeichnete Weinbegleitung: stimmig komponiert, mit spannenden Entdeckungen und fundierter Beratung, die die Aromen der Speisen perfekt aufgreift.

Die Atmosphäre ist lebendig, aber nie hektisch. Trotz voll besetztem Haus ist die Akustik exzellent – man versteht sich blendend, ohne laut werden zu müssen.

Insgesamt eine durchgehend positive Erfahrung – vom ersten Gruß aus der Küche bis zum letzten Schluck. Eine klare Empfehlung für alle, die saisonale und regionale Küche auf Top-Niveau lieben.

Disappointing food at a price that is far from being justified. While the wine pairing was quite correct, the dishes didn't meet the expectations for a tasting menu that seemed to be a pure hype in the Munich gastronomy.
