As much as I really liked the place and what they have achieved the restaurant contains 2 important flaws that give it a low rating where otherwise it would be a straight 5. Here we go -
First of all the boy and girl working there are smiling and welcoming. They served us well and fast. Shout out to these hard working people.
Atmosphere is pretty great. Crowds to your right, festivities and plenty of laughter.
Flaw 1 HIGH PRICES
This is a street seafood, casual bar and group table seating. It runs on a 2 to 4 people shifts. That means that you are not a restaurant. The 15 euro per 100g of lobster/langustine and over 10 euro per 100g for the others is pretty high. Not just high. These are restaurant business suit prices. Further on, although you order the lobster they do not present it to you on scales to ensure weight as properly done in restaurants meaning that you do not know what you are paying.
Flaw 2 FLAVOURS AND SAUCES
Lobster and Prawn Food is served without sauce or flavours. As hard as you try, dry serving grilled sea food is extremely challenging even for the best of Chefs. Try adding spices, mayo or other dips and give extra value to that hard cooking job. Make that lobster value taste properly.
Lastly, I have mixed feelings about this place. I really liked the atmosphere and its potential but we got lost in the execution. I hope it improves and makes the best of its location...
Read moreThe man at the the oyster and wine corner did a incredible job being a RACIEST. When we ordered beer on the menu, he shouted at us that they only had wine and we had to get beer outside by ourselves. However, when the other German customer ordered the same beer, he got out and served the customer beer politely. We then ordered 3 mussels and 3 oysters. The guy pointed up a sign and said oysters can only be served in a set of 6 pieces. We were confused because oysters are priced per 100g in the menu, but we decided to go for 6 pieces anyway. Later, the man served us a plate of 6 oysters and 3 PLATES OF MUSSELS and made fun of us with a sarcastic smile, “This is what you ordered.” We and other customers seated next to us can not believe the proportion of food in front of us. Obviously, it was a malicious distortion of our order and a total scam for taking our money. We talked to the manager, and he apologized and withdrew the dishes. We also heard the manager scouted the salesman that it’s okay to order 1 oyster, 2 oysters or 3 oysters with our basic German knowledge. Worst dining experience ever in our whole Munich visit. The salesman needs more education to learn how to treat customers honestly despite their...
Read moreI visited today November 22nd at around 14.00. The seller at the snack tells me to wear a mask when the rules in München are that you don't have to wear masks in the street (even on viktualienmarkt, I checked the Rathaus website). I would not let a comment if it was only that. The seller then lies to the next client 'i would have let him order at the snack without mask if there was no other client'. There was no other client... You made me loose so much time that then there were 3 clients. Anyway, i take my food and go to eat at one of the tables outside. Through the window I see one of his colleagues working at the restaurant area inside (bald guy) scratches his head, play with his phone and wear his medical mask under the chin when some clients eat at nearby tables next to him). I watched while eating. I did not see him wash his hands after touching his Smartphone.
Stop annoying people outside of your stores when not even required by law, when your staff itself does not wear mask and touch his head and phone (dirtier than toilet seats) before serving clients. I will never visit a Nordsee again to punish your...
