Passaparola Haidhausen — Restaurant in Munich

I arrived looking forward to a good experience and was sorely disappointed. I recommend looking elsewhere. There are plenty of excellent Italian restaurants in the neighborhood within a few blocks of this one.

The food. The pizza was lacking in taste. It came out within minutes of my order. I felt rushed in an empty restaurant. Much too much cheese, very little sauce. I ate a few bites and left 90% of it uneaten.

No option for Tafelwasser so I had to buy an expensive bottle. Every other Italian restaurant in the neighborhood offers Tafelwasser for a reasonable price. Also, no beer from tap.

Now to the service. Upon arrival, I was refused a table in the front of the restaurant. I spoke to the young lady manager/Cheffin because there were multiple tables available as well as many people preparing to leave, as I found out later.

She rudely insisted I sit in the back by myself (there were only two others in that room, paying and the room was then completely empty besides me).

So I ate my dinner in a sterile room by myself when there were tables free in the front of the restaurant where I requested to be seated and was more lively. A few minutes into my meal, I looked into the front of the restaurant and all the people had cleared out except for two. In the back where I was seated, every table was vacant.

I had to seek out the manager/Cheffin to ask for the bill because no one was checking on me in the back.

When the manager/Cheffin finally brought the bill, I conveyed my disappointment to her about the whole experience, the table, the food, the service, I like to give feedback and don’t like writing negative reviews. She proceeded to rudely berate and vigorously argue at me. I did not want to engage and informed her of such. I ended up just saying I’m leaving And I left. I was charged the full amount and I ate a few bites. What an unpleasant experience.

I have never encountered a more argumentative, rude and aggressive person as the manager/Cheffin. I twice requested her name and she refused to provide it. She was a young lady.

I would have liked to resolve the issue as I told her. I would’ve accepted an apology. I might stop by and try to talk to the owner if it is a different person and explain the situation. I don’t like writing such negative reviews. It was really awful.

I hope her boss reads this and talks to her.

Starters were good, but main course for the vegetarisch was not tasty. We had a vegetarisch pizza and a pasta and they were not that good. But in the dessert we had Tiramisu and it tasted really great. They serve good alcohol and service is quick and rates are also not that high. Heard many good things about this place and came here to pick up a Pizza Napoli and Tagliatelle. The pizza was ok but nothing standing out really. Crust a bit dry/hard rather than crunchy. The Tagliatelle were ordered vegan but were drowning in cream 🤦. And yeah: "we only accept cash" twelve months into corona sounds surreal to me when even the smallest bakery is able to move to...
