Café CaVa — Restaurant in Munich

We went there today for a brunch. They served me a crab salad that was completely off, probably some leftovers that stayed for ages in the fridge, because when I’ve reported to the waitress that it tastes funny and seems old, she said that was the last portion they had! And she offered me an EGG as a replacement! Also charged me for the meal without any reduction. The rest of the breakfast was horrible as well including the cheapest bread you can get. Payed 10 euro for that experience. My friend got sick after his breakfast (different one, no crab salad), and I hope the rest of my friends won’t get sick too! Horrible place with awful decor. Only waitress was actually nice and hopeless for the situation with food, she could not handle the kitchen stuff I guess...Feel sorry for her. Don’t go there unless you want to take your enemy there who you want to...

Once upon a time in the early 2000s I used to go here often when I lived in Munich. It was such a lovely place to go to, relaxed atmosphere, quiet, great food. I wish I'd left it to memory rather than go there again when visiting the city twenty years later. You are immediately greeted with the modern custom of "Do you have a reservation? No? Ok you can sit at either of those tables there".......next to the toilet, when the place is almost empty at 5pm. Nice.

How very, very sad to see it like this. But things change over time and evolve. For the better? Make up your own minds. But for me, it ain't what it used to be, and I guess it never will. So I'll be consigning this ca va visit to the memory bin and let the previous experiences...

So, the place is quite fast paced for the waiters but it’s actually quite harmonious. FOOD: I only had a tomato soup but the others had more elaborate dishes. The tomato soup was really good, tasty and not overly salty or overwhelmingly creamy. I enjoyed. The schnitzel look and tasted delicious and not overly fatty. SERVICE: I found it really nice and efficient given how busy it gets but of course short of courteous and giving you a lot of time and attention but I actually am a person who doesn’t need that. Loved the ginger lemonade! ATMOSPHERE: I really enjoyed the atmosphere, it gets busy, but the volumen stays rather on the lower end and the whole place has a “candle light dinner”...
