SANKTANNAS / alpine eatery — Restaurant in Munich

Adding this wonderful restaurant to my top favourites! Great dishes, drinks, ambiance, and hospitality. Perfect for any occasion.

The food was fantastic, I’ve been wanting to try these typical Tyrolean dishes for so long and was thrilled to finally have the chance. The little fried dumplings are incredible too and come with a delicious sauce and vegan mayonnaise that tastes better than any non-vegan versions I’ve ever had in my life. Overall the perfect combination of crispiness, chewyness, and savoury.

Immediately upon entering we were greeted by Robert who is an angel on earth. His genuine kindness and enthusiasm swept us off our feet. He took the time to explain certain dishes thoroughly, and see that every detail was cared for, and made sure we had the most amazing experience. Such a delight. He brought joy to every table. The world would be better if there were more people like Robert.

I wish I could share pictures of our plates but we just started eating right away because it all looked and smelled so good!

We came here on a Saturday night and were surprised to find it was easy to get a table. Our server, Robert, immediately made us feel welcome. The food was incredible - something a little different to what we are used to and a fantastic introduction to Alpine cuisine. There were lots of vegan options, but even the vegetarian dishes would satisfy the more carnivorous amongst us. The drinks were delicious as well and added to our experience.

What stood out for us, though, was the service. We felt welcomed throughout the whole experience, from the moment we stepped through the threshold until well after we got home. Robert was hands down the best server either of us have ever encountered. He really went above and beyond. Definitely add this place to your Munich...

When I had a question to staff, they waved me to come to the counter, as one of them was busy chatting to the guests at another table. I had gotten a meal that was significantly not as described in the menu and was asked "What is wrong with that"? My wife found a thick, curly hair in her bowl, having had only a few bites. - The staff proceeded to discuss amongst themselves if they should still charge us for said bowl. Having our appetite thoroughly spoiled, we left without having a meal, but at least we got charged for our soft drinks we'd had while waiting for the food.
