I don't usually waste time commenting, but I have to make an exception here because I've never encountered such behavior from restaurant employees. I do not recommend Palmtreeclub to anyone looking for a pleasant and safe atmosphere, especially if you need a gluten-free meal or have a family member with diabetes. Upon arrival, all the tables were occupied – none marked as reserved – and yet for a good 15 minutes not a single staff member came to seat us or even inform us about the situation. Two servers (a slim, tattooed German woman and a short man with a bit of excess weight and a disco-style haircut from the 1980s) ignored our presence, and my son was repeatedly shoved and stepped on without a word, as if to make him “get out of the way,” treating us more like intruders than restaurant guests and customers.
When a table finally became available, the waitress, while passing us, announced that it was “reserved” – despite the lack of any sign or note. Shortly afterward, a group of two German-speaking people, who had been standing behind us in line, were seated at that very four-person table. When we continued waiting – while our daughter’s blood sugar was dropping and she was feeling unwell – the waitress pushed two tables together for three other German-speaking guests from the line, ignoring us and others who were communicating in English.
The culmination was the aggression of the waiter toward my son: repeated shoving, pushing him in the middle of the dining area, and threatening to call the police when my son – only trying to maintain some distance – said, “please, don’t touch me.” Our request for help for our sick daughter and the urgent need to provide her with an appropriate meal was also ignored.
After leaving, we were joined by a group of equally shocked people from the line, who emphasized the rudeness of the staff. We had a much better experience at the Fan Restaurant across the street, recommended by those people – wonderful service, a fantastic atmosphere, and delicious Sichuan-style gluten-free breakfast, with several gluten-free options on the menu.
In the end, we lost about 50 minutes at Palmtreeclub feeling as if we had just encountered Nazis, but we ended up enjoying breakfast with a larger group in a far better place, in a pleasant and calm atmosphere, while making new acquaintances. Palmtreeclub is one of the worst places I have ever seen, not only in Germany but in my entire life. Having visited hundreds of restaurants in various countries, I have never experienced such rudeness, lack of respect, arrogance, and aggression. If you value respect, the safety of your children, and quality service, avoid this place...
Read moreAs a person with celiac disease, I am beyond excited to have found this place. This cute little restaurant is 100% gluten-free and it's so liberating to be able to order anything from the menu without having to worry about hidden gluten or cross-contamination. The food is splendid; I had the shakshuka and my partner tried the dhal, both of which were delicious. Even the homemade gluten-free bread tasted great, which is quite rare. I do, however, have some criticism regarding the service. While the sole waitress at this restaurant is very, very friendly, things move at an awfully slow pace. Drinks in particular took a long time to prepare and be served. Upon arrival, I ordered a cappuccino; my partner chose a smoothie. The coffee arrived approximately ten minutes after placing the order, the smoothie took easily five more minutes. The eggs in my shakshuka were completely cooked through, likely due to the considerable time between cooking and actually being served. After finishing my meal, I ordered some water, which I only received a painstakingly long while later (I could actually see the glass sitting on the countertop for ages - the waitress couldn't seem to find the time to serve it.) Granted, we visited on a Sunday during brunch hours. But still, this restaurant seems to be considerably under-staffed and the bartender/barista in particular appears to have an impressively chill attitude towards making drinks. Next time we'll bring extra time and patience and try some more things from the menu, which really...
Read moreI went to this Brunchplace today with my boyfriend and it was good surprise. We booked the reservation yesterday at midnight and they had still a lot of reservations available. The food is amazing. Everything is gluten free. I liked everything in general but i was not the biggest fan of the bread, maybe because it was my first time trying gluten free bread but i would have the option of normal bread in the menu. Me and my boyfriend asked for a meal for two, it costed 47€ and it included 2 drinks and 3 different plates. It was more than enough for the two of us and it was very tasty and delicious. I would only give the tip that the tables for two are not too big and it would make more sense if both people would receive each one plate of each food, so that this “food stand” is not in front of the person. And i would bring each dish one at a time. Also would ask what the client would want first “the cold drink” or “the warm drink”. I know it would give a bit more work to the team serving the tables but in my opinion it would make the experience more enjoyable. Other than that everything was amazing, the space is very cozy and cool. 10/10 would recommend and I will...
