If you are looking for a cosy, comfortable place with strong WiFi, I definitely recommend Wombat's Cafe. As a regular hostel guest, I usually spend my mornings in the cafe, having coffee while working. I work in IT, so I need fast and steady WiFi, and it works very well for me there. There are plenty of sockets as well. I also have my favourite spot, which, of course, I won't share with you! XD
Location The cafe is on the hostel's ground floor, just a 5-minute walk from the east train station in Werksviertel. I particularly enjoy the overall atmosphere and vibes of Werksviertel. It's an artsy, family-friendly district with lots of venues.
Interior The cafe has a cool, modern look with exposed brick walls, warm wood, and natural light. There are plenty of comfortable seating options, both inside and out. I love the cushioned banquettes and the partitioning, which create a sense of privacy. The tables are also spaced out nicely, providing room for conversation or work. The whole place is kept clean, and so are also the restrooms!
Service The staff is super friendly and helpful. The staff's genuine enthusiasm and passion for their work create an inviting atmosphere. I like to stay in venues where I don't feel like a burden as a guest or absorb any negative energy. This is also one reason why I love working here or even meeting up with clients.
Food/Drinks Toasts (including vegetarian and vegan options – it would be cool to have a second vegan option, please!), croissants, and cakes – the banana bread is a must-try! They also offer a variety of drinks, including coffee and homemade lemonade. I have only tried the Spritz so far, and it's my go-to after-work drink. However, I prefer my cappuccino with oat milk. The prices here are reasonable. You can easily have 3-4 cappuccinos for under 10 euros! And since I work many hours there, I need a...

During the day, the Cafe’ serves high quality coffee (try the Espresso, thank me later) and a cozy atmosphere to chat or work.
At night, the Cafe’ turns into a vivid bar with good vibes, delicious craft beer and the possibility to play pool or Beerpong (ask the bar staff for cups!)
Food & Drink was beyond expectations, but also the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! I will come back once I’m again...
Read moreThe daily breakfast buffet is available for €6.90, featuring unlimited coffee from a La Cimbali coffee machine. The coffee beans are overly burnt but acceptable, especially if you need frequent refills while working. However, be aware that there is a shortage of power outlets, which could be inconvenient if you plan to work for an extended period. This spot is particularly practical if you need to catch an early train, as it opens daily from 7 am to 11 am and offers an...
