I try not to leave bad reviews for places I don't like — running a restaurant is hard, and everyone makes mistakes — but this one really went out of their way to deserve it.
We ordered some Bi Bim Bap and the fried chicken, both via a Wolt 2-for-1 deal because firstly, the prices have gone up way too much for their (now smaller?) portions to be worth it at normal rates.
For the Bi Bim Bap, it said it comes with "one protein of your choice," but then the interface only let us select different options that all cost extra. We proceeded without selecting one and ended up getting the vegetarian version.
So to start, their already high prices are even higher than what they advertise them to be (at least if you order online).
The fried chicken, however, was really something else — and I mean that literally, because there was no chicken in there at all. I hope you can tell from the picture, but basically, most of the "chicken bits" were actually just fried dough.
Some had a tiny amount of shredded chicken inside, but in any case, this was a massive ripoff, and I wouldn't recommend ordering there to anyone.
If you don't want to offer your food at discounted prices, then don't opt in to 2-for-1 delivery deals. And no matter WHAT you do, don't lie to your customers.
Needless to say, I'll never order nor eat...
Read moreA new korean "restaurant" in town. The Cup is a fast food chain from korea which sells traditional korean food to the mainstream. I'm a lover of asian food and really like the food of the little korean restaurant in amalienstraße even it is a bit fatty.
Unfortunately the cup cannot really compete. It has a worse value for money ratio than the other one. I personally found The Cup quite expensive for what i can get. Considering that this is a fast food chain, i expect the price to be around 5 - 6 euros maximum. the little korean costs average 6 euros, but the cup is about 8,50 average, which is ridiculous considering that the overall size of the food is smaller (kimchi hits you in the pocket with 3 euros for a tiny portion, which by the way you can get for free at the other korean )
Anyway, besides the price the food is ok and the staff is friendly. I like the clean modern interior design but found it a bit cheesy on the other hand because it looks a bit cheap if you take a closer look.
Overall I can still recommend The Cup for people who are willing to pay the higher price for a better looking interior and an ordinary food. My favourite korean is still the one in amilienstrasse. It doesn't look very nice and maybe it doesn't look that clean but I found it...
Read moreI was quite anxious since I was stepping in around 9:30pm and then I immediately noticed that the Google business hours tells me the store will close at 10pm(though many tables are still occupied at that time). I politely asked if we(w my gf)could place an order to stay. The guy at the counter smiled at us and asked if we visited here for the first time. And then he recommended several fascinating options. I always wanted to try “Bebembop”, so I and my gf asked him for availability. He explained us between #26(warm, cold one) & #27(sizzling stone one)and the he said we will be appreciated to chose #27 on such a chilly day. Without a doubt, the #27 Hotstone Bebeembop was amazingly well balanced with meat(marinated beef)and various veggies and egg yolk, a hint of Korean chili paste. Especially the hotstone serving is a heart of masterpiece!
To be honest, the restaurant isn’t very fancy, like “quick pickup and leave” typical type of fast Asian food(not even authentic Korean cuisine I think)restaurant. But the menu and hospitality were outstanding and the price range was pretty reasonable in Munich(you get what you pay for).
We’ll definitely come back w acquaintances to try out Korean grill...
