Munich is substantially cooler than Berlin so I was looking forward to our dinner yesterday on the terrace of the fabulous Domaines Kilger Weinhaus’l on lovely Wiener Platz. It’s a tiny venue and we squeezed onto an outdoor Stammtisch table in the sticky early evening, betting that it wouldn’t rain. How wrong we were! Within 20 minutes the heavens opened and everyone ran into the tiny restaurant - we thought it would stop and were the last to head in - soaked through. The inner was crammed with people all laughing and steaming wet with wine, plates of delicious food - Saibling Ceviche for me, Tatar for Phil to start - passed over heads to the tiny table we sat in that a lovely couple gave up for us. Es hätte so schön sein können! Man kann nur hoffen, dass wir einen schlechten Tag erwischt haben. Das Lokal hat eine perfekte Lage für einen abendlichen Wein im Freien. Trotzdem kann ich nur einen Stern geben. Ich habe selten einen so miesen Service erlebt. Wir hatten Mittags angerufen, um zu reservieren. Am Telefon sagte man uns es gilt die Regel "first-come-first-serve" und dass man sicher einen Platz draußen findet. Als meine Freundin und ich ankamen sagte man uns, dass leider alles reserviert sei. Da man uns etwas anderes am Telefon sagte, fragten wir verwundert nach. Die Antwort: 'Die Gäste hätten drinnen reserviert mit dem Wunsch draußen zu sitzen.' Eine sehr fragwürdige Antwort, da wir ja ebenfalls vorher angerufen hatten. Aber wir akzeptierten die Antwort. Wir durften uns für eine halbe Stunde an einen reservierten Tisch setzen, neben einer Dame die ebenfalls nicht reserviert hatte. Die Dame bestellte etwas aus der Karte und wurde mit einem arroganten Blick angesehen "Also sowas führen wir hier nicht." Leider führten sie es laut eigener Getränkekarte doch, was er abtat mit "ach das ist eine alte Karte". Das war schon unmöglich. Mit den an uns gerichteten Worten "hier fühle ich mich unwohl" verließ die Dame ihren Sitzplatz. Wir fühlten uns von Anfang an ebenfalls nicht willkommen und wurden wie eine lästige Fliege von einem Tisch an den anderen gesetzt bis wir letztlich drinnen saßen mit dem Hinweis, dass sobald draußen etwas frei wird er uns Bescheid sagt. In diesem Fall war ihm aber wohl umsatztechnisch eine größere Gruppe lieber die nach uns kam und nicht reserviert hatte wie wir mitbekamen. Nach 1,5 Stunden hatten wir auf das Rumgeschubse keine Lust mehr. Ob wir etwas essen möchten wurden wir nicht einmal gefragt. Eine klare Ansage wie: 'Wir würden uns freuen, wenn Sie ein anderes Mal vorbei kommen.', wäre uns deutlich lieber gewesen. Unseren Kellner haben wir, nachdem er uns mit einer unangenehmen Art nach drinnen verwiesen hat, nicht mehr gesehen. Ein junger Mann kassierte bei uns ab, der wirklich sehr freundlich war und sich entschuldigte. Man kann nur hoffen, dass unser unfreundlicher Kellner nicht der Inhaber war und wir vielleicht einfach einen schlechten Tag erwischt haben. Werden wir aber nicht mehr erfahren, da wir mit Sicherheit keinen neuen Versuch starten werden....
