Sanders Steakhouse — Restaurant in Nuremberg

Yesterday night, I entered with 3 friends, a waitress walking back and forth, another one organizing the tablecloths and we stayed there 5min. like dumbs watching the aquarium; finally - when the tablecloths have been organized - the waitress welcomed and drove us to the table (reserved). Although the not really polite start, we did not care because we were so excited for the place and we kept enjoying the dinner. Wine served properly, the bottle arrived closed at the table, positively surprised (for Nuremberg standards), mood definitely up!

I. Tartare as starter: the meat was mixed with paprika and meat taste was completely covered; II. The bread we got with the tartare was old, re-warmed and re-cooled; III. I ordered an Argentinian Rumpsteak 250gr. medium rare. Doubt about the weight, wrong cut, a bit overcooked and almost well done, almost tasteless, tougher than expected. French fries too salty; IV. Hungry and still optimist I ordered an American Roastbeef 450gr. medium rare. Right weight, right cut, again overcooked but fortunately kinda tasty although tough; V. Less optimist, incredulous meatlover - but still curious - I ordered an American Ribeye 340gr. medium rare. The waitress asked me if I am eating at home or not (doubtful humor), steak arrived, wrong cut, totally fatty and soggy. It was neither possible to define the doneness, left 1/4; VI. Dessert menu poor, mainly ice creams, no cakes, decided for the typical Apple Rings fried, fortunately they were good.

First and last time...

Das beste Steakhouse in Nürnberg! Es ist zwar nicht ganz billig, aber seinen Preis definitiv wert. Das Fleisch ist immer auf den Punkt und auch all die Beilagen schmecken top. Ich kehre hier seit 10 Jahren ein und wurde noch nie enttäuscht!

Das Ambiente in der Bauernstube ist urig, charmant und super gemütlich. Der gläserne Anbau/Wintergarten allerdings passt so gar nicht dazu: Einrichtung und Lichtverhältnisse dort wirken karg und ungemütlich, so daß wir uns dort auch trotz des tollen Essens nicht platzieren lassen. Daher gibt es hier einen Punktabzug, allerdings den einzigen!

Der Service war all die Jahre immer aufmerksam, schnell und charmant!

Einzig vorgestern mussten wir nach all den Jahren leider eine etwas unschöne Erfahrung machen, wie sie auch "Vanessa" vor zwei Wochen geschildert hat: Wir sind um 16 Uhr spontan eingekehrt und wurden von der netten Servicedame auch gleich darauf hingewiesen, daß der Tisch nur bis 18 Uhr verfügbar sei. So weit so gut. Um 17:10 (!) - mein Mann hatte bereits aufgegessen und icn noch ein paar wenige Gabeln auf dem Teller - kam plötzlich eine etwas ältere Dame, die ich bis dahin noch nie gesehen hatte (Inhaberin/Geschäftsführerin?) und wies uns darauf hin, daß es ein Zeitfenster für diesen Tisch gebe. Ich antwortete: "Ja, 18 Uhr", woraufhin sie meinte: "Ach ja, das geht schon auch". Wenige Minuten später zahlte mein Mann dann, weil wir das Gefühl hatten, daß man uns loshaben will. Daraufhin wurde mir auch gleich der Teller mit einem Rest Knoblauchbrot unter der Nase weggezogen. Schade! Leider trübt dieses Erlebnis den ausnahmslos guten Eindruck der letzten 10 Jahre ein wenig. Aber da es das erste Mal war, daß sowas vorkam, gibt es dennoch die volle Sternzahl.

Ein Tipp nur an die "Inhaberin". Es wäre vielleicht besser gewesen, einfach die zuständige Servicedame zu fragen, ob sie uns informiert hat, statt den Gast selbst, während er noch ißt... Ihr Personal ist charmant, arbeitet zuverlässig und professionell und wuppt das schon 😉. Auch Sie haben es sicher nicht böse gemeint, aber den Gast 50 Minuten vor Ablauf des vermeintlichen Zeitfensters darauf hinzuweisen, daß man bald zum Ende kommen möge, ist wirklich nicht schön. Das war leider ein recht unangenehmer Ausklang des sonst so...

Just had dinner and we were disappointed. We ordered two steaks (MW and MR) with vegetables and especially fried onions and a spare ribs which were not available so we got Schnitzel instead. Two minutes after the steaks were served, the waiter came and took them away for no reason or at least we weren't told why. After while we got new steaks and non of them was not even M (medium), Both were rather MR. The water saw them after we started eating but did nothing.
