Restaurant Michelangelo — Restaurant in Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Despite it being virtually empty, right after entering we have been asked by the lady if we had a reservation -didn't-, she pretended to look at the list, and quickly said she could only offer a table inside, impossible in the nice terrace. Right after that a second waiter arrived, unaware of the presence of the first one, nicely greeted us, and asked wether we would like a table inside or outside. Lady looked ad him in anger and almost mandated us to seat down (that is, inside). We were right by the door, and could see half amused half outraged, that every single person was ofered a table inside or outside, no further questions asked.

I understand the lady may have wanted to fill up some inside tables, but the whole performance was quite ridiculous -apart from obviously inacceptable-.

That said, I love very spicy food, so I could -with little effort- finish the spaghetti aglio olio e pepperoncino my partner ordered. She couldn't though she likes -normal- spicy food That's not acceptable practice without warning neither.

Rest of the food was OK. Don't expect "real italian", but you necessarily wouldn't in such a turistical place . Witjout the two issues mentioned, place would be 3-4...

We had a table for 2 people, with a real good starter(Vitelli tonnato) we ordered a dish of tortellini and one pizza. The pizza was really bad quality for that type of restaurant. Kind of cheap. Paprika and chilly coming from bought jar. The tomato sauce very dry. The eggs overcooked and all in big mountain in center. All rest of Pizza really dry and not good taste. Shame for such restaurant that kind of pizza. The worst is we decided to eat and share dishes but agree to provide feedback. Which ended the night with a very bad taste. They didn’t accept the feedback and just made up arguments. You can see in picture the jar food (no fresh) and 2 eggs overcooked. No sorry or try to fix it. Really cero customer service. Not great feeling and no concern about customers at all. 2 points only because other dishes were ok but the real downside is the treatment and cero interest to receive feedback or to improve. In other restaurants they will try to fix it somehow. Here only argument is “other customers are not complaining“ Very disappointed and bad...

Michelangelo in Rothenburg may be on its way to earning a one star Michelin review. We dined there two nights in a row while in the city and it was magnificent both times. Our waiter Olsi was a superstar both nights in Service, hospitality, professionalism, composure, and we saw the love of his job with him. All other personnel at Michaelangelo were top notch in our experience. All our foods, the salmon in paper with vegetables, etc were so good that we almost ordered it the next night. The bruschetta, soup, green salad, were above the extraordinary. It was fine dining in a huge surprise way at reasonable prices. Classy Xmas decoration and Olsi also came Out as Santa Claus to a Christmas song and handed out candy to all at Every table along with great uplifting holiday music. We found out the Santa appearance was as Olsi’s idea. It was great!! Olsi Also Looked great by the way!
