first, before i review i want to assure you that this review is based on personal experience. i read reviews prior to going here and felt that the manager, or whomever replies to reviews, was argumentative. to me, a manager or an owner should be interested in the guests' complaints/issues rather than dismissing them with a flip reply. that being said, we found the property to be absolutely gorgeous and one of the most picturesque buildings in rothenburg. unfortunately that's where it ends. the food was so-so, a schnitzle of sorts that i we could not identify but heavily breaded and not so generous with the meat. the rooms were okay but we did find spiders in the bathroom and floor which with the lack of air conditioning and 85 ℉ (29 ℃) temperatures, made it hard to sleep. i'm attaching photos of the spiders and if the owner/manager says they photos could be from anywhere, he is correct. unfortunately, the spiders were in the prinzhotel rothenburg bathroom and in the sleeping area. another issue was the lack of screens on the windows. i read one review where another guest complained about insects in their room at night due to lack of screens and the reply was very flippant as the manager/owner told the guest that all they had to do was turn out the lights and the insects wouldn't come in their room. now here's the good part; one of our group tried this and wound up with a bat flying around in their room.... again, note; i have no reason to spend the time for this review to post untruths. this review is factual and based on...
Read moreWe are the group with Trafalgar Best of Germany & Austria triple, we are staying a night in the hotel within dinner included. When we all sitting down so the service staff asking what drinks that we are having, everyone without thinking and start placing orders one by one. The meal was ordinary, nothing really special about. It was set manual , standard salad, fish with potato and some sort of yogurt mousse with berries sauce on top, and so call fish steak is more like deep fried fish out from box, at the end of our meal before everyone leaves the table heading to our room, we were caught up with hotel staff asking us to pay for our drinks of which we weren’t told it wasn’t included in the package before we order and we didn’t know how much it going to cost us and everyone on the table was in disbelief at same time was furious as well. Let me sum up in the brief , we are paying twice more than whatever price that you are paying in the other place and our tour director is no way found, we don’t know where he is or how to contact him. We are extremely disappointed with Trafalgar and the hotel, I don’t know who failed to let the group know that drinks were not included in the package.
I am here just wanting to letting everyone who signed up with tour in the future be aware of traps, don’t be misleading or assume that drinks is included in the package “ask before placing your order “ otherwise it will destroy your experience...
Read moreArrived via train from Wurzburg around 10.45am and was allowed to check in by a kind plump lady, room 206. Avoid this room in the summer as its directly above the night entrance of the hotel. No problem in the winter, lucky us! ||||Room was smaller than it seems (22sqm), twin beds so close to each other, safe, small minibar, fan, TV, bathroom with a tub. When booking, breakfasts was 16.50 euros each, cheaper than 18.50 during check in. We are not breakfasts people, so avoided. ||||Common areas are nice, modern with an elevator. Facade was made to look like half timber but it seems to be purpose built, concrete building. ||||Why we rated it 3 stars was because of a lack of a kettle for the cold winter. They offered a thermos flask instead but its a chore to go down to the Restaurant every-time the thermos is empty! ||||When asked about the bus for Dinkelsbuhl, the same plump lady spent 3-4 mins to check on her computer then told me to check by myself …so much for a 4 stars hotel! We found a 8.29am bus but waited 20 mins in vain! So took a taxi to Dinkelsbuhl for 100 euros instead! See my review for 3 stars Hotel Piazza in Dinkelsbuhl. ||||The greatest asset of this hotel has to be its location, probably the closet hotel within the walls to the train station, 10 mins walk with no luggage. Add 2-3 mins more if with luggage. Overall, our 3 nights at this hotel was fine but we had expected more for the price we paid for a 4...
