What a wonderful place! My son initially struggled to find suitable food in town, expressing a desire for pizza. Luckily, our Airbnb host suggested this establishment. He thoroughly enjoyed the Margherita pizza. My wife and I had already dined, but the enticing aroma and appearance of the food tempted us into a second meal. Our server, Cosimo, recommended the lasagna and red wine. The lasagna was exceptional, the best we've ever tasted. It was truly perfect. The rich aromas of herbs and spices filled the air, creating an enticing culinary experience. Each dish was a testament to the chef's skill, blending fresh, high-quality ingredients. Amazing dinner experience. The food, the service, the atmosphere, every single part of our dinner was perfect. We arrived late to Rothenberg on a Sunday night and were warned that nobody would serve us after 9pm. We rushed into the city at 8:50 desperately looking for a place that was open and we found Cafe Roma (ps: they will serve you later than 9pm and not be grumpy about it!!!) The owner was SO friendly, warm and helpful. We ordered pasta carbonara, lasagna and caprese salad (beautiful!!!). We also ordered black currant juice and he served us a caraf of free tap water. I give two stars for reasonable prices and friendly service. I can't believe the comments about the food at this restaurant. Why these high ratings? My food was very poor. The pizza was tough and heavy. Ingredients of low quality, tasteless. The cream of tomato soup was too salty, orange color, full of cheese and zero tomato flavor. In my opinion, this place confirms the claim that not every Italian knows how to make pizza, just as not every Frenchman knows how to make snails and a Pole knows how to make good pierogi.
