A Delightful Stop During the Christmas Market
Kainz Restaurant was the perfect spot to take a break and enjoy the festive atmosphere of the Christmas market. From the moment we arrived, the experience was top-notch.
Exceptional Service and Perfect Food The service was attentive and friendly, ensuring we felt welcome and well cared for. The food was simply outstanding—every bite was flavorful and perfectly prepared. I ordered the spicy bratwurst, which was delicious and paired wonderfully with the rich, creamy cappuccino I had alongside it. The attention to detail in both the food and presentation made it a meal to remember.
Cozy Outdoor Seating The outdoor seating area was a highlight, especially during the holiday season. Surrounded by the charm of the Christmas market, it provided a cozy and festive ambiance that enhanced the dining experience. It was a treat to enjoy great food and coffee in such a beautiful setting.

The reason for 1 star is because we were FORCED to pay tip.
I did my Google search and understand that unlike North America, tips in Germany is appreciated but not mandatory.

When I told the server I don't want to pay tip, he forced us to pay by saying it is a must (mandatory) to pay tip. Honestly it's not the matter of that few euros, it's how he presented it and...
Read moreStopped here because the menu outside looked pretty good, and it was cold and snowing outside. They had cheesecake and apple strudel on the dessert menu that I was excited about. We got in and seated. Staff wasn't friendly or unfriendly. Seemed to just be there. We ordered and ate, and I was waiting for the waitress to come by before asking for the desserts. Our waitress came over and informed us they needed our table in 10 minutes and started hurriedly cleaning our table and getting our check done. It started off as an ok restaurant, but turned into a rushed, hurried ending that was ridiculous. Never got my desserts. As we were leaving, my husband was walking through a narrow area of tables and a waitress almost walked right into him carrying a ton of dishes. He stopped, but couldn't move over because there was no room. She gave him the absolute dirtiest look. Next time we go to the castle, we will eat...
