After a year, I finally got the chance to ty Baobei. Definitely a little gem in Stuttgart - offering a different atmosphere. As I am a Chinese Indonesian, I find that most of their menu are food that I am familiar and even grow up with. I ordered the chicken rice, which (I would say) inspired by the hainanese chicken rice. At first look, I was wondering why is the rice yellow? But tastes similar nonetheless. I prefer more intense taste, but I know how hard it is to find pandan leaves here in Germany. Chicken was tender and pairs so well with the dark soy sauce. But the star for me is the bowl of chicken broth. Looks simple, but fills with so much depth. Really takes me back home - tastes very homy. I can really feel the love from the food they serve.
Next: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ service! All the waiters and owner are so nice, even going the extra mile for everybody (and I mean everybody - even your lovely pets. They even offered some leftover chicken meat and bones to a customer’s dog. How lovely isn’t it ❤️)
The only downside is how tiny the place is - only 3 tables inside with a bar like place. So I would advise not going in big parties as reservation is also not possible. All the staff speak German (obviously) and English, so the place has a very international vibe with Chinese / Singaporean...
Read moreI’ve always wanted to try BAOBEI(寶貝), and the review photos alone made it clear that they serve some seriously good bāo. Taiwanese street snack bāo is a steamed bun filled with beef and salad, and what I got here was nothing like I’d imagined—in the best way. I’ve tried plenty of bāo in Germany, but it’s rare to find ones this delicious. Another standout was the réndāng niúròu. The soup, rice, meat, and salad were beautifully balanced, with light, well-seasoned flavors that made the dish easy to enjoy from start to finish. I ordered: • réndāng niúròu (Beef Rendang) • chǎocài (Stir-Fried Greens) • jīfàn (Chicken Rice) • niú ròu bāo (Beef Bao) • pāi huángguā (Cucumber Salad)
The service and the kindness of the staff is so sweet to experience. Highly recommend! I’ll...

The ambiance of this restaurant is vibrant, and really relaxed with the option to dine outside. Their service was gracious & accommodating, ensuring every aspect of our dining experience was enjoyable. Every dish we tried was bursting with this creative Chinese/Singaporean fused together flavors and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the “bào bun” and táng yáng/Tang Dynasty Fry. The entire experience was exceptional and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Check them out and...
