Café am Markt — Restaurant in Stuttgart

I am an American living here, so this comes from that perspective :) The service was friendly even though it was very busy! Please be patient when you arrive or you may be disappointed that it takes a few minutes to be seen and order drinks/food. The atmosphere is comfortable and the food is impeccable! Great portion sizes and tasty drinks. All very fresh and flavorful– excellent and very fair for the price.

My friend and I had the Mexican Omelette and the Avocado Toast and neither disappointed. I also had a dirty iced chai latte with oat milk and it felt like home haha!

Cafe am Markt has been our favorite place in Vaihingen for breakfast. The food is delicious no matter what you are looking for but we loved the waffles, omelets, and simple breakfasts for days when weren't as hungry. The coffee is also very good.

For lunch they have wonderful, fresh salads and very tasty flammkuchen.

We LOVED the big patio where you can soak up the sun and enjoy the pretty square.

The people that work here are very nice to Americans and are willing to speak German slowly if you are trying to learn the language.

Another bonus is the amazing cakes and chocolates that they sell. The chocolates make wonderful gifts.

I wish I could give 0 star if possible. We ordered fruit waffle and ice waffle while each costs about 9 euros. We each got a piece of waffle with size smaller than my smart phone. Moreover, the waffle consisted literally of tons of oil and solid sugars. I would rather eat those packages waffles bought from supermarkets. We were really disappointed. In addition, we required vanilla and joghurt flavours to the ice waffle and we got vanilla and lemon instead. It was our first time sitting in a cafe since the corona pandemic.
