I've lived in Japan and had the pleasure of eating sushi in Shibuya, Tsukiji, and Okinawa; this is the real deal. The atmosphere and ambiance are great. Chique but not intimidating if you explore the town in joggers and a fleece. I tested the mixology by ordering the Negroni. It called to me with Roku Gin and Yuzu in the description. If the Campari is too strong, or the ice melts too quickly and waters it down, this drink would fail hard; it did not, it succeeded in a big way. I was left excited about what else would come from this exquisite find. The sushi, oh, the sushi. Excellent knife skills on the sashimi, another great sign. Octopus was trimmed and sliced to perfection. The sushi rice, a signature of discipline and attention to detail in Japan, was the perfect temp and texture. The ratio of rice to fish is exact. Even the ginger and wasabi served were memorable. Lastly, the miso. This is typically a distraction no one looks forward to. AT MIKOTO, EVEN THE MISO IS A DESTINATION. The nostalgia for Japan and drinking in Golden Gai was strong. I love this place and can't wait to go back again and again until the staff...
Read moreI recently stopped by Mikoto Sushi in Stuttgart for lunch, and the experience was truly fantastic from start to finish. The vibe was absolutely amazing—the restaurant has a sleek, comfortable, and inviting atmosphere that instantly makes you feel welcome. While I initially learned that they don't typically offer à la carte sushi during the lunch rush, the wonderful waitress made a kind exception to help me out, which speaks volumes about the level of customer service here. That exceptional effort really made my day! Beyond the outstanding service, the sushi was incredibly fresh and delicious, confirming this place's reputation for quality. Mikoto is a highly recommended spot, and if the lunch experience is anything to go by, I'm sure dinner is just as spectacular. If you're in Stuttgart and looking for a top-tier Japanese meal with a great atmosphere and staff who genuinely care, you absolutely need to check...
Read moreI would like to give zero star for their Teriyaki Chicken dish if i can. It was just a piece of Puten Schnitzel with some SUPER SALTY brown sauce and some steamed vegetable and tiny portion of rice here. If u call yourself a Japanese Restaurant and with such high price I would recommend you to hire a REAL Japanese Chef..... The service stuff are pretty friendly, but the chef is from Vietnam and not even a good one, the amount of cash I spent tonight... should be able to pay for many good food from any something WOK restaurant in Stuttgart for several times. Since I haven't tried the sushi yet, I can not comment on it. but mediocre fish soup and Teriyaki Chicken, Seriously..... u can get it anywhere and it is way better than Mikito...... expect many more negative reviews within my friends circle for many years....... super...
