Hungry Turtle, Ulm — Restaurant in Ulm

There is an old saying: don't mess with success. I feel this is the best phrase to describe the "new Hungry Turtle": Food quality changed - they changed the recipies and most of the stuff is now unedible (changed from minced meat to very salty and untasty pulled meat. Prices increased by a significant amount (quesadillas were 5EUR now its 10EUR!!!). The cozy, indie vibe is now gone too. I understand the need to increase the prices due to inflation and all that, but at least if they kept the old recipies maybe some people would still come back for the good ol' taste, but now the food is just bad, and its also twice as expensive. Great place. They have a short menu (which is always a good sign) from where you can choose different types of burritos and quesadillas, plus some sides, which are basically fries or tortilla chips. You order at the counter and wait in a very nicely decorated and informal dinner room. But be aware, they are not fast! Nevertheless, the wait is worth it. Freshly prepared dishes with authentic mexican flavours and good portions. Maybe the sides could be a bit larger though. This restaurant is very close to the city center of Ulm. The food is fresh and quality of ingredients is high, however the flavours were missing. Mexican food is generally a blast of favours but here it was bland. The staff are very friendly and nice. The place has a good vibe and mostly filled with youngsters.
