Fjord Restaurant — Restaurant in Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Ettenheim

We were in Oslo only for a couple of nights (combination of business and pleasure) and weren't particularly looking for a special meal...but oh boy, did we find one. We went for the five course prix-fixe menu and it didn't disappoint. The highlight was the final fish course in the truffle sauce Fjord offered the hard-to-find combination of fine dining in a casual atmosphere. The staff was terrific: knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. An there was the wine list. We ran our own parings but it quickly became apparent that this restaurant has much more to offer....as in a page-and-a-half of DRC selections. While the wine list was shared with other restaurants in the corporate group and not all selections were available on the premises, Fjord nonetheless was well stocked with the pinnacle of pinot noir and other high-end wines. But even their by-the-glass offerings were great. Five stars...

Good cafeteria style restaurant in the Scandinavian area of the park. Simple menu offering Swedish meatballs, fish, steak and schnitzel. The meatballs and mash were very tasty, vegan meatballs are available as well. Prices were reasonable and the portion size was pretty good.

There are only two options available on the kids menu, my children enjoyed their fish fingers and fries. Plenty of seating over two levels. If you sit upstairs you can get a nice view of the Blue Fire...

Der Neuaufbau ist gelungen. Sehr schönes Restaurant, dass trotz seiner Größe sehr heimelig wirkt. Dank einer Fensterfront im unteren Stockwerk und einer Terrasse im oberen gibt es viele Möglichkeiten auf den direkt benachbarten Rafting-Kanal zu schauen wo die Boote vorbeischaukeln. Ansonsten entsteht durch den schlanken Grundriss nicht das Mensa-Gefühl wie in anderen Restaurants dieser Größe. Zudem gibt es mehrere Bereiche, die geschickt etwas voneinander getrennt sind. Bei meinem letzten Besuch sind wird dort während eines Regenschauers eingekehrt und es war richtig gemütlich. Das Personal war freundlich und hat sich ebenfalls sehr positiv über den Neuaufbau geäußert.

Die Speisekarte ist aufgeräumt und bietet eine schöne kleine Auswahl skandinavisch (anmutender) Speisen. Die Preise sind europaparkgemäß eher hoch, eine parkweite Ausnahme bilden dabei Kaffee (2,50€) & Kuchen (3,00€), die tendenziell gastronomietypsiche Preise haben, was ich persönlich sehr sympathisch finde.

Etwas irritierend ist aktuell (noch?) die außen hängende Island-Fahne...da würde ich eher eine norwegische erwarten, da Island der benachbarte Themenbereich ist und auch meist eher nicht zu Skandinavien...
