We loved our stay at the Santa Isabel hotel - from the lovely welcome and smooth check in after a long journey, to the comfortable room and delicious breakfast. We stayed for four nights as a family of three in a standard room on the second floor. It was a great size due to being in the tower part of the hotel. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom was lovely with a shower over a bath. I really appreciated the attention to detail across the whole hotel and park - the theming is amazing. ||||It was my sons birthday on the day we arrived and there was a special message in the room along with some sweets and stationary which was an unexpected touch. ||||The swimming pool at the hotel was a welcome quiet and relaxing haven after a long day in the park. ||||The theme park is huge and there was therefore lots of walking each day so it was lovely to be able to head back to our hotel that was just on the edge of the theme park via a short walk, or via the monorail. Entry for hotel guests is via an exclusive entrance in the Spanish area. We used the 30min early access to the theme park as a hotel guest every day and were able to ride quite a few rides with no wait time. ||||Breakfast was delicious and had so many options - hot cooked items, freshly made omelettes to order, cold meats and cheeses, many different bread and pastry options, cereals, yogurt, granola and fruit. We didn’t eat in the hotel in the evening though, we chose other hotel restaurants instead.||||There were only two minor downsides - ||1. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room||2. Noisy when windows open - our room faced the main entrance to the Santa Isabel and Andaluz hotels (including the hotel bus stop) so it could be noisy with the room windows open. When we had them closed we couldn’t hear a thing though, the sound proofing was great. ||||We will definitely return to Europa Park and would recommend the...
Read moreThis review is based on a four night stay in a Standard Room overlooking the Piazza Roma: Hotel Colosseo exceeded all expectations. There was a bowl of fresh fruit and bottled water waiting for us when we entered our room. Our family of four (two children, 10 and 7 years old) had plenty of space and found everything to be very comfortable. The beds were comfortable and clean (bunk beds were an extra touch of fun for the kids). All surfaces were extremely clean. Bathroom was big enough to handle everything we needed as a family. The quality of all materials was extremely impressive. ||All employees were extremely kind and helpful. ||A little thing that went a long way was how house keeping would replenish four bottles of water everyday. It was extremely hot in Rust while we were there and these waters were nice to have when we returned from the park each day. ||Public Transportation: We arrived in Rust via public transportation (bus from train station). The bus stops across the street from Hotel Colosseo. Super easy to get to hotel by crossing the street or using the underground tunnel that connects to the hotel across the street. ||Food: The breakfast buffet was great. It offered a wide variety of food items that should please everyone in your group. They have excellent coffee machines that very easily make espresso based drinks, but they also have many drip/filter coffee dispensers as well. Cost is included in your stay. We did eat at Antica Roma for dinner one night and it was quite tasty. We would eat there again if/when we go back to Europa Park.||It is natural to compare one's experience at Europa Park with Disney. Having been to Disney World in Orlando multiple times (staying at The Polynesian), I can easily say this hotel is a higher quality for a fraction...
Read moreThe hotel is very beautiful inside and outside, with all you would expect in a 4+ star establishment (spa, pool, entertainment, etc) . The buffet breakfast was one of the best we've had. Very vast choice and everything was delicious.|However, the rooms, though nicely decorated, are what you would find as standard rooms in a 3* hotel, not a 4. We had booked for 3 adults, but the room had a double bed and 2 bunk beds that would be fine for children but not for an adult. Being 1.90m long, a very tall adult wouldn't even fit. As it was, it was barely ok for the 3rd person with us, and quite hard, the mattress being laid on a wooden bottom, no spring box. We asked if we could have a room that would be more adapted to adults, but were told that the hotel only had 5 rooms with 2 double beds and that we should have required it at booking. 5 rooms, In a hotel that size, it was rather surprising to hear.|There was a cute but very small wardrobe that wouldn't be sufficient for a family with kids either. |No mini-bar, no hot pot with tea and coffee as we'e always had in 4 hotels and even in some 3. Two bottles of mineral water were provided, which was a nice gesture, but when we asked if we could have a 3rd one as we were 3 people in the room, we were told that it wasn't possible. |The tissus box had 5 tissues left in it, again, not up to a 4 hotel standards. |So, a bit of a disappointment for a hotel of this category. We are of course comparing it to other standard rooms we've had in the same category hotels and not to the suites which I'm sure are very nice.|Tip for adults having to share a room: Don't forget to require a room with 2 double beds, unless you have a small person with you who will be happy...
