The place is nice, from walking into what seems to be a large, green bush, to the retro 50s style armchairs inside, surrounded by lots of greenery. The experience unfortunately goes downhill after that though. The interior is a bit bare with plywood brown walls apart from a few random pics around the place. The serving desk has the appearance of a hotel reception as staff prepare food behind, so none of the usual coffee machine and display cases etc. Whilst my friend had the French toast, I was keen to try the Sakura pink croissant - being advertised as "the best homemade croissants in Accra!" - well it really wasn't - it tasted of onion and was inedible - I think made from oil rather than butter. The French toast was little better - two slabs of cake-like substance encased in jam and surrounded by thawed, frozen strawberries and accompanied by fresh whipped cream that had to be sent back as it had spoiled. Dear Lola cafe is a very cute place for breakfast or lunch. It can also be suitable for a solo date whilst working or for breakfast meetings. They are opened from 8am to 6pm. My rating is based on the fact that the waitress was simply nice and helped me choose my sandwich option. My date and I didn’t enjoy the meal we ordered. The milk shake was watered down and it didn’t taste good. And with the croissant we have had way better than this.
