I hate to give bad reviews to family owned places but considering the reviews we were very let down, as if we were in different place.
Came there in hopes of finally good artisan coffee but were pretty disappointed. Tried the lungo/americano but it is watered down to the point of being not coffee at all. The filter is definitely NOT filter (probably prepared in french press or something) and the overly dark roast is not fitting the filter at all, plus it is also of very tasteless coffee to water ratio as well, like well over 1:40 or something, definitely not prepared by a barista that knows what they're doing. I think you would ve been safe with basic espresso or cappucino, but finding actually good artisan coffee place that knows what it's doing on kefalonia seems to be nearly impossible i guess. If you specialize only espresso based coffees, serve only espresso based coffees, because otherwise it only puts a bad name on your place. And for the love of god, put more coffee or less water into the non-espressos
Regarding the food, i tried their signature baguette that had its name in the name and it was pretty below-mediocre, kind of dry and lacked contents, with an unoriginal salad side for decoration. The pancakes were the best cooked part and the store greek yoghurt that we sided it with. But otherwise i don't know what good food are people talking about in reviews, maybe we came on a bad day/picked wrong food items.
Regarding the kind owners, i think owner/servicing person had a bad day but he didn't feel very welcomming at all and we felt rather super uncomfortable.
The highlight was the amazing views.
Really hope they step up their game, i hope this fair review serves as motiovation that's why i give it 3 stars instead of 2 that i would have otherwise given for such...
Read moreWe went there to drink coffee and grab a quick bite to start the day. We chose this caffe for the view and the reviews and we are disappointed to say that we had a horrible experience. First, on the balcony there's only one table in the shadow which was occupied so we sat down in the interior right in front of the bar. They didn't come to the table to ask what we want so we went to the bar, but they told us that they would come to the table. 20 minutes later, a waiter arrived, informed us that despite having soy milk as the only alternate milk option, they would not put it in the freddo cappucino..?🤌 Anyway, after that, it took 25 minutes to bring the food and the even the coffees. One of us asked for a fruit salad with honey, the honey was a yellow liquid not even resembling honey. Then to top it all off, they gave us a completely random bill, when we asked what's on it, at first they didn't answer just said "if you pay one by one you pay what you ordered, don't worry"...🤨. After pushing more to get an answer since the prices were different to what was on the menu, they told us that the prices changed today and are now more expensive, although they didn't mark that on the menu yet🤷😂. In the end we argued and paid the prices from the menu, but it's been highly frustrating in general and especially irritating that throughout this argument the waiter continued to try to change subject, asking us where we were from instead of answering our questions.
If you're in a hurry and are non-confrontational avoid this place completely they will waste your time and try to...
Read moreCute, seems to be new-ish coffee and breakfast place just outside of Argostoli (read: plenty of parking). There is indoor seating, a big picnic bench out near the street, and then a big patio. All the times we've been there, only about 1-2 of the tables are shaded in the morning, with the others in full sun. Great view of the water from almost anywhere you sit outside. The salmon toast is really good, and comes with a little salad too. I got a smoothie which was fine and what I wanted for the temperatures, but was a little icy and disappointing. The coffee is good (have tried both the hot and Freddo cappuccino) - this is the only place that I've seen in the nearby vicinity that has non-dairy milk!! They had soy milk and almond milk. The yogurt with seasonal fruit/honey/walnuts is also very good. The consistency of the honey might be different here but it is a little more runny and tastes less like the honey I'm used to,...
