Came into Argostoli for a late evening gyros and struggled to find somewhere traditional so had to settle for this. It’s in a more touristy bit of the centre so, yes, we knew what little to expect and what we’d be paying, but the total lack of, or, rather, terrible service, we’ve just experienced is totally unacceptable and not a true representation of the wonderful hospitality you can experience elsewhere in Kefalonia. The waiting staff were not the least bit interested, professional nor hospitable. Their whole attitude was wrong and when we were asked at the end of the meal whether “everything was good?” and we replied honestly that it wasn’t and we’d had to wait 45 mins+ for our food (gyros, souvlaki and kebab) while other tables got seated after but served before us (Greeks/locals/regulars) they said that they were busy (they weren’t; if they consider 11.30pm on a Sunday night busy I’d hate to see how badly they cope with it being rammed in high season!) and also that “kebabs take a long time”…a bit of mince meat that’s been pre-prepared on a stick takes longer than gyros or souvlaki how?! It could have so easily been a much better experience if they just cared to try, and also stopped smoking instead of attending to customers.
