In December of 2023 we were staying at the hotel. We were looking for somewhere special to spend New Year's Eve 2023. The staff downstairs recommended your restaurant. My husband is Coeliac, and I was told that the menu of the day was discussed, so as to accommodate his gluten free requirements. This made us very happy as he could relax without any fear of gluten in his meals. We had a beautiful night, the menu was slightly modified for him, and I could not recommend the restaurant highly enough.

December 2024. We were going to be in Athens again, this time for Christmas. Without a second thought I made a booking for Christmas lunch. Once we arrived in Athens, I went to the restaurant one afternoon to confirm our booking, and to confirm the menu for gluten free requirements. I spoke to a young man behind the bar. Yes, he had our booking. No, they had not yet worked out the menu for Christmas Day. They would not do it until the day before. I found this quite strange, but did not question it. He was indifferent to us, to the point of rude, our booking, and our request. I should have heard the alarm bells then.

We arrived on Christmas Day for our special lunch, to an empty restaurant, booking for two instead of 3. That's fine, there was only the manager and a lady sitting there anyway. There was no Christmas menu, just a plate of the day. No other choices. Was the plate of the day (chicken and rice) gluten free? The server had to go and find out, as there was nothing in our booking that mentioned Gluten Free requirements. The server also said that we could look at the menu. The only other thing that was GF was the Greek Salad.

I was very disappointed as clearly there was no Christmas menu, and there certainly was no consideration for our GF request. We wanted an entree, but there was none, unless you class hamburgers, chips, and bagels as an entree!! We also ordered the Greek Salad. My son ended up ordering a bagel as an entree until his plate of the day arrived. He had not finished eating the bagel and the salad, when the server came over with the main meals. She said, your mains have arrived. She stood above him, while he quickly finished his bagel so she could put the plates down. I have never been so rushed. It was like there were impatient for us to finish! This dish of the day was nothing special. The chicken breast was dry, and to be honest it was a kind of dish I can make at home.

To try and make it somewhat special, I decided to order a dessert. I was quickly told that the baklava had run out. How could it have run out!!! There was literally no one else there! So clearly, none had been made for the day.

I would like to add that I was not the only one. I saw a party of three come in and sit down. Once being given the choices, or should I say, lack of them, they left! They were smarter than us.

A party of about 4-5 people came in and sat behind us. I also heard them say, well we have no choice but to order the chicken, as that's it! I cannot express how disappointed we were, and how our Christmas was spoilt. It was obvious that the restaurant did not want people for Christmas lunch. So why not say so, instead of letting us have a most disappointing day While this restaurant began our year beautifully, it ended it in a most disappointing way! ...

A lovely little gem on level 7. We visited on Monday evening. The hosts and waiters were super friendly, very polite and attentive. From the moment that we entered, we were greeted straight away.

We were seated at a table for 2 in the middle, with the views of Acropolis. Guests were nicely spread across the room, without cramping everyone in the same corner.

The food is simple but the quality, the way its cooked and prepared makes the difference. Compliments to kitchen staff. Simple but tasteful presentation, balanced flavours, good cuts.

Female waitresses is very sweet, very warm and very friendly.

We had a great time at...

During our 5 nights Athens we ate here for 4. There was no reason to try and improve on this location. The service is professional and charming, we tried all the main dishes on the menu and were never disappointed. The nightly musical entertainment was perfect and not intrusive. Antonis the saxophonist was a pleasure to listen to. The manager Theodoris made us welcome each night with his bright smile. The waitstaff are all excellent, knowledgeable and helpful. The views are amazing, especially as the sun sets and the Acropolis is illuminated. It is more interesting than huge rooftop bars with...

Amazing little find! The rooftop bar is accessed through the Select hotel and it has a great view of the Acropolis. The drinks and meals are very reasonably priced, we only spent €40 for 2 people. We had the moussaka & the chicken dish and both were delicious. They had plenty of tables but a good atmosphere with a live saxophone player. They even treated us to a Greek after dinner drink. I would highly recommend for a great dinner in Athens!

Not the easiest place to find, but maybe they know that they would be swamped otherwise! Enter through the Acropolis Select Hotel, take the tiny elevator up to level 7, and step out onto a view of the Parthenon and a great value restaurant and bar. At sunset it wasn’t busy at all, so would highly recommend for a relaxing meal and drink with a nice view.
