Mani Mani is the kind of restaurant that tries to be original and chic. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't, but this time I definitely did! The entrance is a spiral staircase that takes you to the first floor, which I always find an interesting choice. The atmosphere at the table is clean and modern; I wouldn't call it romantic, but I'd definitely bring a girl to dinner here, because it looks pretty cool. The menu is only one page long, but several dishes are quite unique, definitely not the traditional Greek food. I ordered a "Green" salad (with all kind of interesting stuff in it) and a pork tenderloin with cheese. I was really impressed with the salad: it was tasty, it included meat, cheese, caramellized hazelnuts (and more), and it was huge! I was way less impressed by the tenderloin to the honest: it didn't feel very tasty to me, nor particularly original. My friend ordered a pasta, very slim spaghetti, with fried eggs, mushroom, and truffle oil. It was a risk, because we Italian are unbelievably picky about pasta 😜, but we were both favorably surprised! The portions were huge even in this case. For dessert we split a "Chocolate Texture", a mix of various types of chocolates, each with its own matching flavor. It was quite unique and each bite felt different, something I definitely appeciate. House wine was also pretty good, even if a little bit too acidic. We were also offered a micro-brewed mastika after the dessert, which is always a good way to end any dinner in Greece. As for the bill, for a starter, a main dishes, half dessert, half a bottle of wine, and offered mastika I spent 35 €, which is very reasonable for the quality, quantity, and service we received. I must admit that the pork tenderloin was quite a miss for me, but I appreciated the originality of everything else enough to reach 5 stars. In the end, I recommend Mani Mani if your are seeking a dining experience different from the usual!

We stopped in to this restaurant that was tucked away and a little hidden because it had such high reviews. We walked up the stairs to this very welcoming restaurant. The host asked if we had a reservation (we didn't) and sat us right away. The restaurant itself is small and has a calming atmosphere. The staff are all so incredible! They are kind and helpful and everyone greeted us with a smile. The first time we visited was our first night in Athens and we were just looking for some tasty Greek food. Manh Manh did NOT disappoint. We ordered the homemade bread Manh Manh, which was served warm and came with olive oil, butter and olives. It was so delicious and I highly recommend trying it. For our main courses, we ordered the Macaroones, which is a traditional Greek pasta with pork, mushrooms, spinach and parmesan, along with the Lamb, which is served with celeriac mousse, greens, spicy pepper sauce (it was only a little spicy) and lamb sauce. Both were absolutely amazing. We could not believe how delicious they were and were not expecting so much flavor. For dessert, we decided on the orange pie (it's cake for Americans, but referred to as pie in many parts of Europe). Wowza!! What a way to end our meal! Orange cream, orange sauce, orange cake... it was SO good. As a testament to how much we enjoyed our meal, we returned on our last day and ordered a whole different meal. The staff remembered us from three days prior and greeted us quite happily. They offered us the same table and all of the staff came over to say hello. If you are in Athens, I highly recommend stopping in to this restaurant. It may be just what you need to brighten up your taste buds.

The restaurant is about 5 minutes walk from Acropoli Metro or the Phillipos hotel where we were staying. The restaurant doesnt look much from outside as you have to go up some stairs to the restaurant which is on the first floor but its definitely a hidden gem. The decor is restrained and modern with great background music and has some great artificial candles which really do look very real. We started with the octopus in balsamic vinegar and ouzo on a bed of fava beans and it was absolutely delicious - we should have had 2! The bread we ordered as well to go with it was perfect and very moreish. For my mains I had the stuffed rooster which was excellent but I wish I'd had the belly pork - which I would have usually had but decided not to as my partner chose it - as it was fantastic with not much fat and delicious sauces. We decided to end on a high with the chocolate parfait with pomegranate molasses and strips of fig which had a very intense figgy flavour. We asked the waiter to select wines from the wine list to go with the food - 2 different whites with the octopus and 2 different reds for our mains and they were spot on for each of us. The food was absolutely delicious and on a totally different level than other restaurants we ate in. The staff were superb - especially in their wine recommendations - and we were give a complimentary glass of mastica at the end of the meal, The meal of breads, 1 starter, 2 mains, 1 desert, a bottle of water, 4 glasses of wine and a glass of ouzo was an amazing 81 euros - exceptional value for a meal of this quality. A must if you're in Athens

First class experience. A true gastronomical culinary delight. Beautiful food presentation. Very good service. I would preface that all of the food was not traditionally prepared/presented but is rather more modern renditions of Classical Greek dishes/foods. To start we had the house baked bread, trilogy (fish roe, tzatziki, and fava), Greek salad, and lentils with singlino. The roe was not my my liking but I would imagine if you’re someone that likes caviar it may be good. The fava bean was excellent and I’m not one who cares much for fava. The Greek salad was prepared chilled and also nice. The lentils were exceptional as well. A lot of flavor and delightful. To follow we had the croquette prawn, saganaki, and mini beef burgers. All were excellent. The caramelized cherry tomatoes on the saganaki were a sweet delicious touch and contrast to the saltiness from the fried cheese. For our main course we had the rooster, beef checks, lamb shank, & Tsouhtes Manhs. All were prepared to perfection (no exaggeration). We only had the saragli for dessert but it was good. If you’re ever in Athens, Do yourself a favor and go. If I ever get the chance again my family and I certainly will.
