My children's school visited the Lalounis Jewelry Museum. During the tour led by the museum director, when my twelve-year-old son was asked by her what he thinks is the reason that the first jewelry made was intended for male hunters, he replied, "Maybe because men used to dominate women?" The director's reaction was to accuse him of sexism and attribute his answer to the sexism that characterizes him, loudly and in front of everyone. A little later during the tour, she asked him something that, since he was embarrassed, upset, and with somatic symptoms of anxiety from the previous discussion, he was unable to answer. Then she pointed at the twelve-year-old with a hand gesture, a gesture that drew the attention of all the attendees, to whom he exclaimed, "Here is our sexist." It would be interesting to know where the director of the museum believes she derives her authority from, displaying such behavior towards a minor, over whom she does not exercise custody or parental care. I should mention that upon the school's arrival, the museum insisted on a strict separation of students into boys and girls and that they be guided separately. I think that separating boys from girls is actually...

I was surprised to find out this museum has been there for long time. It was really good to observe and chat with gold- silversmiths at work and find out about the opportunities and prospects of young and talented crafts people working and studying in Greece. I think the displays show their age, however, and the QR codes give you more or less the same information you get in the display labels. It would also good to know what the various materials used are, rather than the generic “semiprecious stones” as very few of the displays give any such information. Also, I found the comments that (I presume the exhibition curator) made in front of visitors about some of the non Lalaounis displays were not really appropriate and they should have been professional rather than promoting their sister’s work which was also...

Loved this place. You start.at the third floor where there is a resident jeweller working her magic. Then you go down to the second floor to see the magnificent collection of jewellery inspired by eras and locations as well as amazing collections of jewellery inspired by ideas like maritime or sperms! Down to the first floor where they had an exhibit of an American jeweller who uses discarded material to.make fabulous headpieces and necklaces. She even had a rail of clothing items and accessories that she invites you to try out. A must visit. Ps. When we visited there was.the most delicious smell of cookies in the oven. I think it was for the house cafe but we had to leave. There is also a good museum shop

I got this tour through Turbopass, and I must say I was very impressed by the Ilias Lalaounis Jewellery Museum. As someone who loves jewellery, especially rings, I found the collection absolutely captivating. The pieces reflect incredible craftsmanship and creativity, inspired by different historical periods and artistic traditions. It’s amazing to see how the brand has evolved over more than 30 years, maintaining its reputation as one of the finest jewellery houses in Greece. Truly a must-visit for anyone who appreciates art, history, and exquisite design.

To be honest it a very good museum very well laid out, the is a shop and a small restaurant. Everything is presented very well, the staff were very polite. It was really worth a vist spread over 3 floors, I'm glad thatbi took the time to look around and surprising quite that I found even nicer. If you vist Acropolis on your way to the museum it's a very short walk to the museum. You will not be disappointed. They also have a in house design studio, you can watch them make the jewellery that is really nice to see.
