We ordered: Plain basmati rice boiled, Garlic naan Mushroom curry (spicy) Chana masala (not hot at all)
They served us rice that smelled and tasted mouldy. When I let the person in charge know they said that basmati rice just smells like that. That's just a lie. The first thing anyone learns about cooking rice is that if it smells mouldy or sour you should discard it immediately. I think it might have been bad storage, since I heard a microwave ding before they served us and him saying that the batch was "only" cooked four hours ago, leading me to believe they maybe they refrigerated the rice while still warm, leading to moisture and bacteria or using already wet tupperware with bacteria on it to store it. In any case this is unacceptable and a health hazard. Until the end he did not admit that it was a bad batch of rice, but (since we did not eat it) we asked for it to be removed from the check and he agreed. The naan is not a naan, it's more like an oven baked pizza, barely browned, neither the dough nor the cooking method seemed like naan. The rest of the food was amazing though, we bought a spicy mushroom curry and a not at all hot chana masala, those were honestly really really good, with good portion sizes. The heat was on point, same with the spices The waitress was really friendly, it was honestly just the mouldy rice and the insistence of the owner/manager that brought this...
Read moreWent there since I was in the area. The place was nice, with Indian-themed decoration and music. The waitress was so friendly and helpful, full of smile. She always came to ask if everything's fine and if there's anything needed. Before the main food came, we were so delighted to be served with papadums which were on the house. For that, hospitality-wise, I'll give 5 stars.
As for food, my order was mixed meat platter, vegetable biryani, and garlic naan. The food was fine, I wouldn't say 5-star but it was not bad either. The lamb was cooked fine, no strong smell, so it was fine by me. The chicken tandoori was good, juicy and tasty. The other chicken on the platter was kind of dry, so I didn't eat everything. The vegetable biryani was kind of too strong which made it a bit bitter. But with a bit of salt, it was quite balanced. Overall, we were having a good time.
At the end of the meal, the owner invited us sweets and Indian tea. Again, I'll give them 5 stars for the hospitality. If only Google has more detail of each aspect, I for sure will give them those stars for...
Read moreI've visited this restaurant at around 4 pm which I think is pretty important, because although the food there was amazing and very well made in my opinion the service itself was average, the part I didn't like at all was when our waitress gave us the bill way before any of the food came which was a little surprising for me. Also our naans came a lot later than expected and our masala cooled down by the time the naans arrived which was disappointing. The prices themselves were reasonable. The time I mentioned above is important because I think the restaurant mainly operates in the evening hours and at the time of our serving service was focused more on the take outs and deliveries, so it all could be just poor time management, though that doesn't mean I don't recommend visiting this place because after all that happened I was pretty satisfied. Just maybe try to visit this Indian restaurant later in...
