Cafe Nacional — Restaurant in Athens

When you enter this place the decoration (roof lightings and wall paintings) makes you feel immediately like being in Cuba! went for lunch and I had lightly fried shrimps on salad and a very interesting flat "greek salad" with a smart sauce based on feta cheese. Bread could be better (detail...). The mohito was a classic one, very good. The menu looks very elaborated offering not ordinaty tastes... Cuba is here ! I recommend it to people aged only...

We had just arrived from Thessaloniki to this bar-restaurant, after reading good words about it in a web page. We tried: sea bass, carbonara, beef cheeks, ceviche, potato chips with a touch of truffle, focaccia with dip, a little of molecular gastronomy ... all accompanied with cocktails and rye whisky. We found the place by chance as we left early the Alphaville concert which was close. This bar cought our eye as the decor was very nice. We did not have a reservation and they were full so we sat at the bar. Antonis the bar man was exceptional he welcomed us and made us feel great. He is a definite plus I would say.
