"Spirtokouto" Bar — Restaurant in Athens

One of my favorite cafe-bars in Athens. Located in the border of Petralona, Kerameikos and Thissio, it is easilly approachable with any transportation mean as it is close to the center. First of all this place is cheap, one of the cheapest quality bars in Athens actually. It offers food, alcohol (all kind) and good coffees. I got to say that their pizza is one my favourites as well. Besides that the decoration is amazing , all handcrafted and unique, with posters of old movies and stickers with band logos or sarcastic sayings and graffiti. The best part is that they even have a Nintendo NES set up with joysticks and you can play games for free. The music is amazingly great and everyday is different, from synth wave, rock, pop, hip-hop, punk, blues and everything that comes to mind. The best place to have drinks in the city, it is quiet, the atmosphere is warm, it emits an underground feeling and the personnel is extremely helpful and kind tending to your every need immediately. The music is usually alternative rock, the drinks are amazing and the decoration of the store would make any 80'-90' s kid kneel and start crying from the memories. Spirtokouto is a must if you are in the area, but I would recommend especially on Friday and Saturday to arrive there a little early (at least 22:00) so as to find a place to leave your drink since it is almost full after that. This is the best bar in Athens for me, totally of the beaten path!!! A racoon is doing the door!!!! a real racoon called nikos!! i couldnt believe it!!! Drinks are amazing!!! the Paloma is killer!!! and on the other side of the road u have a Pizza place, that sells t-shirts to any one who doesn’t know how to eat without getting tomato sauce all over themselves.
