Cinque is worth the hype! I've been twice already to Cinque with my other half and we intend to visit many more times. Cinque is not a restaurant, mind you, so if you are looking for a full menu, this is not the place for you. However it is indeed the place for you if you are looking for a cosy little wine bar with a great selection of greek wines that are served by the glass as well. It is the place for you if you are looking for smiles, knowledge and warm service! Make a reservation if you are going to visit with a group of friends because the place has got loyal friends and customers and seating can be a problem since it's tiny! They do offer with great care a great variety of platters with products from all over Greece that will keep your appetite totally satisfied. The chutneys that are served with the platters are delicious. I find the prices affordable and matching the quality of the products. The wine list is oriented on the greek terroir and it is quite extended and very lovingly chosen. They also offer wine flights, ask them for help if you are interested. In the end I have to mention the people; it always comes to the people in my book. The owners, a polite and smiling couple, are always eager to explain everything you might not know and give you advise on what you could choose from their lists depending on your taste. They do speak excellent english and french as well so fear not! If you are in Athens, you have to give Cinque a chance. Most possibly you are...
Read moreI cannot recommend Cinque enough, My wife and I were in Athens for our 25th wedding anniversary and chose to spend our last night here rather than a standard greek restaurant and we were not disappointed. Although the wine and cheeses are fantastic its the people who run the place that make it special. We did not pre-book but were lucky enough to get 2 seats at the bar, the owner works front of house and his wife and staff tirelessly behind the bar there is a real personal feeling to the place. The staff run through the menus and help you select wine by glass or bottle offering tasters if needed. You can also have tasting flights (3 glasses or 5 glasses) and there is food available to compliment the wines, we chose the mini cheese board and were more than happy with this and our wine choices. Considering how busy it was and that we had not booked we were never rushed, quite the opposite in fact we spent a while chatting with the owner before even thinking about getting the bill. This place is a must visit if you are any where near, if you are not then make the effort...

It is really an incredible experience, I say experience because that's exactly what it is. Don't expect a restaurant scene, this is 100% Wine bar experience.
Staff and owners are extremely knowledgeable on Wine and very friendly. Food is excellent, all local Greek produce and wines.
Wine tasting is a lot of fun with a brief intro on each Wine and helps you to choose the one you'd like to continue to drink. We will definitely be back!
Be sure to make a reservation if you want to avoid disappointment, you can try walking in but a seat won't be guaranteed.
Recommend the white wine pictured, cheese & meat platter is a must, open pie is basically a Greek style pizza with really fresh ingredients, loved it!
Expect to wait a little bit of time for the cheese & meat platter as it's all freshly prepared and not whacked together, precision like this takes time and you'll also get a brief explanation about what tastes best with what cheese/meat/chutney.
Cannot stress how good this place...
