Kalimeres — Restaurant in Athens

Position is great. Our waiter, we could not fault. He took our orders promptly. Then we waited 10-15 mins for our coffees. There were only a couple of other tables with guests so not sure why it took so long. Not long after that our breakfast came out. When we finished I tried to get the attention of one of the 3 waitresses standing around playing with their hair and nails . One of the chefs came out of the kit hen and noticed me and told the waitresses to come over. They did not, not until their conversation was finished I asked for the bill 3 times all up. It took another 10-15 mins to get the bill even though I had mentioned we had an appointment to get to. Needless to say we were late. It is such a shame the service is so slow, because there were people waiting for a table for longer...

It's one of my favorite bistros in Athens. First, the location. You're in the heart of Athens on a very busy street ( in a good way ). You can sit for hours here, watching people passing by , having breakfast, brunch or just a coffee. In the evening this small street awakes and you have music and people from all around the world strolling by looking for a location for dinner. Most of them decide to stop here because it looks like you're on a cycladic island . The cocktails are perfection and ( my favorite) the crispy chicken tacos 🌮) to dream for. All in one, the food is amazing, the portions just enough so u can order 2-3 dishes if u cannot decide, like me. The atmosphere is like a day spent on a Greek island. The service is very attentive and always on the move....

I dined at this restaurant multiple times during my trip to Athens, the food was always excellent. Not only was the food delicious from starter to dessert, but the presentation was always immaculate.

The staff were friendly and the service was great, even when the restaurant was very busy in the evening I was never left waiting long. The atmosphere during the afternoon is relaxed and quiet while during the evening after sunset the street is vibrant and bustling.

Prices are maybe on the higher side €8 for starters and dessert and €15 for a main, though very much justified for the quality of the food.
