We first came here a few years ago after He Non Blond received a tip, and now make this a first stop every time in Athens. What to say? This is one great place. So friendly. The owners and staff chat (and remember) and it is just a pleasure to keep coming back, catch up and see what is going on. The food is a constantly changing selection of classic Greek dishes which are basically impossible to choose from, but hey, just another reason to come again. It's traditional food, so not about big unexpected, surprises, but much more about simple things done really very well. A recent visit included some incredible artichokes, chickpeas, lamb, mousaka, stuffed courgette, roast potatoes and excellent house wine... and that was just the first day. Of all of the places we have been anywhere (yes anywhere) this is perhaps the one we would most strongly recommend. We know, this is a strong statement, but see, it takes somewhere really very special to make you feel so welcome year after year, to show always such enthusiasm for giving you a great meal and a great evening and to create such a strong and lasting memory....

The restaurant manages to maintain an authentic and pleasant atmosphere, with a welcoming host who immediately welcomes the guests with a smile and invites them to taste the fresh dishes of the day. The service was warm and personal, which greatly contributed to the overall experience.
We enjoyed dishes that presented rich and traditional flavors. The meatball soup was rich and delicious, with aromas reminiscent of traditional Greek cuisine. The eggplants with the cheese were excellent, with a successful combination of flavors and textures, and the rice with the vegetables was fresh and well seasoned. All the dishes arrived in generous quantity and high quality.
The local white wine served alongside the meal was a perfect addition, completing the culinary experience.
In conclusion, Dyo Dekares I Oka is a recommended restaurant for lovers of Greek cuisine, with a pleasant atmosphere, courteous service, and delicious and authentic food. Perfect for a relaxed and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen traveling I generally like to visit and try as many different restaurants as possible. However, Dyo Dekares I Oka was simply too amazing not to return to. It's a family run restaurant and straight away they made me and my partner feel like part of that family. The staff were simply amazing. Friendly, attentive and beyond generous always showing a great love for food, family, Athens and their customers. The food is delicious and varied with a great selection of vegetarian options which my partner found difficult to come by in Greece. They also had a variety of daily specials and the staff were happy to talk about individual dishes or ingredients. Dyo Dekares I Oka made such an incredible impression on me that I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in Athens that wants an authentic Greek family run restaurant experience. So much better than other alternatives that are setup purely for tourists.
If you are in the area please visit this incredible family run restaurant and the amazing people...
