This hotel is in a great location just a couple minutes away from the metro. Grocery stores and a laundromat are also nearby. My single room was small but comfortable. It had a fridge with a small freezer, a mini closet, a safe, a double bed, a hair dryer, and a desk. It also came with a robe, disposable slippers, a toothbrush, and a very tiny tube of toothpaste. The room also had individual air conditioning control, which meant that I could keep my room (and myself) cool amidst the hot weather. I found the cleaning staff very friendly, though they would always shut my air conditioning off after making up my room as opposed to leaving it on, which, while not a big deal, was a little annoying as it would have been nice to return to a cool room after a long day out in the heat (the staff do leave open the windows though which helps to cool down the room). The room itself could use a refresh of paint as there were many large scuff marks on the walls. Note also that the layout of the rooms in the hotel are such that you can easily hear people in other rooms coming and going (doors opening and closing, suitcases being rolled, chatter echoing) as well as housekeeping in the morning if you choose to sleep in.

The bathroom set up was seemingly without thought for the practicality of guests using it. For example, there was simply nowhere to put anything—there was no space on the bathroom counter (owing to the design of the bowl-shaped sink on it), no shelves whatsoever, and only one hook on the wall. Not to mention, the faux wood under the sink bowl in my bathroom was visibly cracked and water damaged and should have been replaced. The shower setup is disappointing; my shower had no overhead faucet and just a handheld shower sprayer that hooked onto to wall about 7 feet high. This meant that there was no way to shower without having to hold the sprayer in my hand the whole time. Judging by others’ photos, this does not seem to be the case with all rooms so it seems like a gamble of whether you will get a normal shower setup or not when booking. The shower also had a cheap shower curtain rod under an existing metal rod for some reason, and there was sticky residue on the glass (that was never cleaned off) seemingly from something that had previously hung on it. The shower does not have conditioner or body lotion, only a 2-in-1 hair and body wash. Lastly, because the bathroom and shower floor are finished with large tiles, as opposed to smaller ones, I found both to be very slippery when wet.

The breakfast was good. However, if I didn’t go down for it shortly after it opened, I found that the eggs and sausage were always cold, and not always replenished throughout the duration that the breakfast is served (ie. you might only get some remaining cold scraps if you come an hour after breakfast opens). Nevertheless, there was a good variety of sandwiches, pastries, juices, fruit, and an all-in-one coffee machine. The woman who runs the breakfast seemingly was working alone and was friendly to greet guests and efficient at clearing tables for guests.

Overall, this hotel served me well during my Athens trip, however, there is room for improvement with the bathroom set up. Despite this, I would return to this hotel should I visit Athens again :)

Note: there is a tiny, but functional, elevator in the hotel. The fridge also had a bottle of water in it,...

Absolutely Terrible – Do Not Stay Here!

We paid around $1000 USD for this stay and it was a complete nightmare. This hotel is absolutely not worth the money and should be avoided at all costs.

Breakfast: Stale, not fresh, and once we realized how awful it was after the first day, we were told cancellation was “not possible” since it was all bundled. The staff never refilled items, so once something was gone, that was it. Totally unacceptable.

Room & Bathroom: The bathtub leaked water all over the floor, there was no ventilation, and the bathroom was not cleaned daily. The room “service” consisted of nothing more than making the bed. Completely substandard for a so-called hotel.

Noise: The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything your neighbors do, and after midnight we were constantly woken up by loud, noisy guests. Zero soundproofing.

Internet: The Wi-Fi is useless. The speed is so bad it’s impossible to work; we had to use our own hotspot. For a business trip, this was a disaster.

Iron: Unbelievably, there is only one iron for the entire building, and you have to beg reception for it each time you need it. Absolutely ridiculous.

Worst of all – BEDBUGS: This is the most horrifying part. We left this hotel with bedbug bites all over our bodies. We are now undergoing treatment and terrified that we may have brought these pests back home. This is not just unacceptable, it’s dangerous to guests’ health.

This place is an absolute disgrace. The management clearly does not care about guests, hygiene, or even basic hospitality standards. I would give zero stars if I could. Save yourself the money, the stress, and the health risks – stay anywhere...

A Perfect Base for Exploring Athens! I recently stayed at Hotel @ Syngrou Fix for 4 nights and had a fantastic experience! Here's why I highly recommend it:

Location, Location, Location! This hotel is perfectly situated for exploring Athens. It's close to the charming Plaka neighborhood, with its vibrant shops and restaurants. Plus, the subway station is just steps away, making it easy to get around the city. All the major attractions are within easy reach – a huge plus for sightseeing!

Cleanliness & Comfort: The room was cleaned every single day, which made a big difference in feeling comfortable and refreshed during my stay. The beds were comfy, and the overall atmosphere was clean and well-maintained.

Friendly & Helpful Staff: The receptionists at Hotel @ Syngrou Fix were fantastic! They were always friendly and helpful, offering recommendations for restaurants and sights. They even helped me navigate the public transportation system.

Delicious Breakfast: Starting the day with a delicious breakfast buffet was a real treat. There was a good variety of options to choose from, including fresh pastries, fruit, yogurt, and hot items. It fueled me perfectly for exploring the city.

Hotel @ Syngrou Fix exceeded my expectations! The combination of a perfect location, clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and a delicious breakfast makes it a great choice for any traveler visiting Athens. I would definitely...

We came from Türkiye and stayed this hotel 3 nights (room+breakfast). You can find everything in the rooms, for example tooth brush, tooth paste, coffee and tea machine, two pillows (one is soft), two cups, speed wifi connection You can take coffee and tea from the lobby, free. Everyday, rooms are cleaning. Hotel is far away from metro station (Syngrou Fix station) about 500 m. If you hungry you can eat something near this station (we tasted tragana which is founded in 2023 and Ambrosia). If you need deserts you can eat from fresh and sweet). Near the hotel you can find Indian restaurant, pizza, cafe, bus and trum station and rent a car. This hotel is far away from the sea, but you can go Sytagma by metro and from there you can get in the trum. Edem station is near the sea and also marina. If you need transportation from the airport, you can book service but airport is far away from this places. If you take a bus card from athes to airport, maybe it will cheaper. And you can find a lot of foods for breakfast, for example, deserts, cake, eggs, cheese, breads, fruit juice, vegetables, olive, tomatoes, coffee etc. Breakfast time between 7 and 10 am. You can check in the hotel 15 pm and check out is 11 am. There isn't car parking area, maybe. You can walk Syntagma Square, akropolis from here or you can call taxi, uber for going somewhere. And also people who are working here, so kind, they know English and helpful.
