So this is how it rolls. We recently found out about this place by a friend. The truth of the matter is that we do love both, Japanese and Peruvian cuisine therefore there’s wasn’t even an issue trying it out. It’s located in a lovely area around the Mets, not far from downtown. A very cozy space with really cool music. The staff was super friendly as well as the management. We started with the main green salad , super fresh (enough for two persons) along with two amazing cocktails. Moving on with the Hamachi Ceviche we really got the chills as we loved it. This was followed by the Tuna Tiradito, super fresh tuna ( perhaps with a bit too strong taste of truffleponzu). Salmon tartar was the next one , well presented and tasty too. Crispy causa with salmon was an interesting Peruvian delicacy. There is no question that the inside out rolls happens to be more temping than the regular ones therefore we tried the shrimp tempura ( super tasty) and the white fish tempura with strawberry. The last one was a big surprise which made us reordering it. As for the closing we had no space for dessert however we couldn’t resist the complimentary offer. Fondant green tea with caramel yuzu sauce and sorbet coconut. Literally it was all we needed to balance out after too much fresh fish!!! Overall we felt really overwhelmed. The place exists only two weeks now so kudos to that. The price point comparing to quality, presentation and the unique twists was very good. We really look forward to visiting again as there is more to try. Definitely recommend it to the...
Read moreOur first time here and wow what an excellent surprise! I hoped it would be ok but instead it was amazing. I think we ordered one of almost everything. Not a single dish didn't receive rave reviews from our group. Not only was the fish and beef fresh and of high quality, the sauces, preparation, and presentation were flawless. We jokes more than once about slurping up the leftover sauces. The service too was perfect. One of my biggest peeves is bad timing at restaurants. Food coming too fast while I'm trying to enjoy my aperitif, then long delays, then too many dishes to fit on the table, no empty dishes cleared. There was none of that! We received just the right amount of attention from the friendly and courteous staff. I had actually expressed concern when we arrived that the table would be too small for our party but it worked out well because of the great flow management. Another thing that I'm often grumpy about is when I don't have control of the wine bottle. I don't want to end up with an empty glass because the bottle is off on a table in an ice bucket and I have to rely on the server. Here, we were well cared for and never ran dry! I should also add that dessert, often an afterthought at restaurants - especially "ethnic" ones, was a star here. We got both dessert offerings and from the kids to the adults in the group, there was unanimous approval. The combination of attentive service and super flavorful food made this one of the most memorable meals I have had at a...
Read moreUpdate nm 2. Went about 3 weeks a go - even though i said I wouldn’t . Not only new staff which were highly unsympathetic, the food is nothing like before. The only good thing was the cocktail. I spent the night hugging toilet after. They should have kept the staff from the beginning. Especially the chef. This this I swear i never come back. Pitty, used to by my favourite restaurant
UPDATE: went two months a go and ordered 2 weeks ago. The food went down. I think they changed the chef since last year which was a big mistake. It was one of my favourite restaurants, have been there probably 10 times in last 2 years and this was my last time. Definitely NOT COMING BACK.
It was my second time yesterday here, we have ordered 8 dishes and i have to say I haven’t ate better for a long time. Great hospitality, great drinks and amazing food full of new flavours. Unfortunately i made a pic only of a desert cause the food disappeared too fast....
